How Ironic

After more than a week of rain, rain and even more rain, the sun finally decided to show up for the day. Looked very lovely as I sat here looking out the window and enjoying the warmth that the sunshine brought in.
Suddenly, without any warning whatsoever, the power to my house went off! I assume it wasn't just my house as we just paid the bill a few days ago, but the neighborhood.
So, here I sat with no power, no computer, no nothing but the sunshine which also went away quickly as more clouds rolled into the valley.
Since I had been sitting here contemplating microwaving some food I guess it was good that we have cereal and milk, or I might starve without my precious electricity.
Power was off for about an hour, not that big of a deal, just seemed ironic that the one day of nice weather in such a long period of time is the day the power goes off.

I'm Deaf

Since I first got sick, right after Thanksgiving, I have had either an earache or my ears have been plugged. The past couple of days the plugging has gotten worse, to the point where I can barely hear anything even when the person talking is right beside me. I can hear their voice modulating so I know they are talking but I don't have a clue what they say :(
I hope that this will go away soon, it is very frustrating! I know that it is because my sinueses are plugged up. For a few minutes at five thirty this morning I was awake and my nose was fairly clear and I was breathing great and I noticed that my ears were fine. Too bad no one was talking at the time lol
I saw somewhere that allergy medicine might help unplug my sinuses so I might have to give that a try. I do not wish to be deaf!

Printer Ink

If you own a computer, and these days who doesn't, you will at some point in time need a printer to go with it. Whether it is for printing out work related documents or simply an email someone sent to you that is full of jokes, a printer becomes one of the necessary accessories to your PC.
I have a great printer, a HP printer that is as reliable as can be. The problem for me has been finding hp ink cartridges at a reasonable price. But, not any more!
Depending on the model HP printer that you own, this website has cartridges for as low as thirteen bucks! Quite the deal I must say. These days every dollar one can save is a blessing. Times are tough and the recession does not seem to be going anywhere fast unfortunately. Or perhaps you are like me, living on a fixed monthly income that never seems to stretch as far as it should. A bargain is a true blessing for me!
You say you don't own an HP printer? No problem! They also have cartridges for other brands of printers like Canon and Epson and Lexmark. So you should go check out the site, find the printer ink that you need and order a few cartridges. That way you know that you will have the ink on hand when you need it most.

Crappy Weather

It is rainy and cloudy today and I am as sleepy as can be without being asleep. I hope it is just the crappy weather and not me having some sort of relapse with this pneumonia.
I am very tired of being sick and even more tired of the crud that has come with being sick. Mostly I miss my hearing. My ears have been plugged for so long that when they do finally unplug and I can hear normally again it will probably hurt!
Even though I still have work that needs to be done I think I am going to take a break from the computer and the weather and go hide underneath some covers.

Eczema Treatment

Are you one of the millions that go through life scratching constantly or trying to hide skin that looks terrible because you suffer from eczema? Do you even know what eczema is?

Eczema is term for a group of medical conditions that cause the skin to become inflamed or irritated.
The most common type of eczema is known as atopic dermatitis, or atopic eczema. Atopic refers to a group of diseases with an often inherited tendency to develop other allergic conditions, such as asthma and hay fever.
According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, the prevalence of atopic eczema is increasing and affects 9 to 30% of the U.S. population. It is particularly common in young children and infants. While many infants who develop the condition outgrow it by their second birthday, some people continue to experience symptoms on and off throughout life. With proper treatment, the disease can be controlled in the majority of sufferers. But, what is the best eczema treatment available that is just right for you and your skin?
You could search for many hours online looking for the answer to that question. Or, being smarter, you could simply click the link above and read the reviews of others that have done the research for you. You do not have to suffer the itching and scratching or the covering up of your skin, you can get treated and help yourself get over this.
Of course, like anything that is medical, you should consult your doctor before using any products. Let the medical expert help you.
The choice is simple, get treatment or hide your skin. Which do you prefer?

Empty Or Full?

Last night was one of those half empty/half full questions. I am still recovering from the pneumonia and the darned virus is being stubborn about leaving my system.
Last night while playing games I had the awful feeling I was about to make a mess of myself and I needed to run to the bathroom. Unfortunately for me I am walking slowly and am not about to try running LOL
I did make it to the pot in time and there I sat for what seemed like an eternity getting rid of more waste than I thought my skinny body could hold. I finally managed to make my way back to the kitchen and the computer when, a short while later, Nature called again! How could I have more to get rid of???
I finally resolved myself to skipping anything outside of the bedroom area so that I could be closer to the bathroom. I hate that!
But it did get me to thinking, is this having the runs all that bad? Is this my body's way of getting rid of the virus inside of me? Or was it simply the junk food I had for dinner disagreeing with me?
Half empy or half full?

Smart Phone

I'll admit it, I really don't care that much for cell phones. Heck, I don't care all that much for a regular telephone either. I own a cell phone though. It's a very simple phone, allowing me to send texts and make telephone calls. I could access the internet on it but never have and never will. That's what I have a computer for. My wife, on the other hand is just the opposite, she could easily be called a cell phone fanatic.
She spends hours looking at cell phones and determining if they are good or bad, worth the price, etc. And, when she finds one she likes a lot she starts to drool a little, reminding me of Homer Simpson staring at doughnuts. So I have no doubt in my mind that she will drool when she sees this Smart Phone, the htc desire 2.2:

According to the website, the HTC Desire Smartphone brings the latest version of Android to its already top quality hardware. The HTC Desire Z™ with Android comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSPA connectivity and Bluetooth capabilities, connect to quick Internet browsing at your finger tips. With super fast download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps, the HTC Desire Z™ could be the fastest Smartphone yet! Get down to business by quickly accessing your work contacts, calendar and docs while on the go. Take a break to view videos on YouTube or movies. HTC Desire Smartphone allows you to immerse yourself in the ultimate gaming experience with the vividly superb 480 X 800 WVGA high-resolution 3.7" screen.
And, right now this beauty is available for just $79.95. That's a darned good price by my standards. Heck, I spent half that amount and got my wife a phone that can surf the net and simply take photos. This Smart Phone could be just the perfect gift for my wife!
If you are thinking about getting a new cell phone for someone on your gift list or even yourself, you need to check this Smart Phone out for yourself. Imagine the joy on someone's face when they receive this as a gift. If they didn't love you before, they certainly will now!

Time To Switch

These days, with the economy the way that it is, everyone is looking for the best bargains they can find. They shop diligently, scouring the ads and the aisles for ways to save money on food, clothing and gadgets for the home. Makes perfect sense to me since I do it as well. But, why stop with those choices?
With a new year rapidly approaching perhaps this is a good time to think about switching your insurance policies as well. Time to check out the website here and find some cheap insurance.
Make certain that while you are saving money that you do not scrimp on the insurance needs that you have though. Get all the coverage that is necessary and still save some bucks. There will be nothing good later if you discover that you managed to save a few greenbacks but don't have the right coverage!
Check out the site, do a little research and decide what is the best way to go for you and your needs. Then grab the bargain, pat yourself on the back for being so smart and put those savings away somewhere for when you find a truly great bargain in your favorite store.

Time

One thing I have noticed about being so sick is that time passes differently than when you are healthy.

For instance, we all know just how easy it is to sit down at the computer for a few minutes, look up and realize that an hour has passed by in those "few" minutes.

Being sick I notice that I can moce from my prone position in bed to sitting up for what seems like a long time only to look at the clock and realize just a few moments have passed.

I will be happy when my time returns to some sense of normalcy. I will be even happier once I am healthy again :)

Out Of It

I am sleeping way, way, too much. I hope it is just the antibiotics kicking my butt. I sleep almost the entire day and night since I came home from the hospital. I have things I need to do but have no clue where I will get the energy to do them, so they get put off.
It takes me hours just to get out of the bed and walk into this kitchen so that I can do my updates for this blog or Facebook and to do my daily "work" that pays me pennies. I hope this is a temporary thing as I do not like being quite so lazy.
I do seem to be feeling better and I notice that I can pretty much taste things that I am eating or drinking so that is a good sign right there :)
I hope that none of you ever get this old or this sickly, it is not any fun at all.

Electricity Is In The Air

It's Winter time, we all know that. Some places already have had tons of snow fall on the ground. The problem with Winter is that most people have carpet and with carpet comes static electricity.
Carpeting might be nice most of the time but not during the Winter. During the Winter is the time one really wishes they had wooden floors, as they not only look nicer than carpet but it also keeps you from shocking yourself (or your appliances) when you simply move across the floor.
Of course you can always put on a pair of socks and slide across a wooden floor like the guy in the movie did and many have re-done it for commercials. Looks like fun however now that I am old and currently sickly I shall pass LOL
But most people think that wooden flooring is expensive and way beyond their budgets. Not true. You can buy discount laminate flooring at very reasonable prices without suffering loss of quality. In fact one can purchase this delightful wooden flooring for about the same price (or less) than you would pay for tiling or carpeting, under $2.00 per square foot!
So, why suffer through another year of static electricity and shock? Look into these handsome floors that are available to you and (should you feel really frisky) slide yourself across that floor!

Rough Times

It is hard to type this. Not because it is something horrible but it is because it is hard for my fingers and the keys on the keyboard to meld together the way that they used to, before I got old.
A few weeks back I turned sixty. Not that old for this day and age, that's for sure. But, old enough for me. Actually it isn't the getting older part that has done me in,it is the getting sick part that tried to destroy me.
I am at home typing this on my PC, same as always. I have spent the past five days in the hospital with pneumonia, and I had been sick for at least five days prior to finally calling 9-1-1 and going to the hospital. I had not eaten anything hardly in the last 3 or4 days I had been sick at home and that didn't make matters any easier. If anything, it made things a whole lot worse!
But, I am at home now and my two females are paying very close attention to every move I make, every sound I utter. I'd be willing to bet that if I burped right now my daughter, sitting close to me, would raise up her face and ask me if I am okay, do I need anything, etc. Nice to be loved, not always so nice to feel like you are being so closely guarded LOL
At least I managed to type this blog update, that is a great start. I have some more paid posts to write and must be able to type them. Otherwise I will have to get one of those programs that turns speech into text and I don't want to do that. Not the way I talk! lol
