Rah Rah Rah

Earlier I wrote about my daughter and her fascination with wedding dresses and other such clothing. While I do not personally care about wedding dresses as it seems a shame to spend a fortune for something you can only wear once my child adores them. Personally I get more excited looking at sexy cheerleading uniforms like the one pictured above. Rah, Rah, Rah!
Cheerleaders work very hard at what they do, I know because I have been around a lot of them through my years working at a college. Nothing they do is as simple as it looks! Even though it is a lot of hard work they all enjoy what they do which is probably why it looks easy.
However, if your cheerleading days have passed you by you can still look like a cheerleader and you can cheer the love of your life with this costume. I am certain that your lover will get a real thrill of seeing you prance around waving your pom-poms and cheering.
And, if you are single and you cheer for your lover then, who knows, you might have to then start shopping for wedding dresses. Just don't call my daughter as she will spend your entire life savings on that one dress and still not be happy.

Come Again?

My daughter has this fascination with weddings, the planning the clothing, the receptions, all of it. She can spend hours looking at wedding clothing and be totally enamored of it all.
The other night, while in the same room she wanted to show me this "adorable" wedding dress so I stopped to look. Not because I care but because it is the right thing for a parent to endure their childs silliness.
I saw nothing extraordinary about the dress and, being male, said so. She told me that it is a "privilege" just to look at this dress!
Say what? I looked again, a little closer look this time. Nope, still looks like someone saw a fancy curtain and decided it would make an excellent wedding dress lol
Not sure why my child has these fanciful ideas but good for her if she does. Just leave me out of them if you don't like my reactions, and she usually doesn't.
Maybe it's because she is 20 years old and still filled with optimism and hope while I am 3 times her age and pessimistic as well as real-life educated.

Watch Your Step

One of the things I miss about this house I live in, compared to my last house, is the garage. A place where men like me go to escape from the females in the house and do manly things like build things or tear things apart. The garage an be a fun place to escape. It also can be a dangerous place to escape if what you are doing leaves fluids on the garage floor where, once forgotten momentarily, are remembered when you slip and fall.
One simple solution to this dangerous situation is expoxy garage floor coating. Coating the garage floor with slip resistant coatings help keep you from slipping and hurting yourself. Garage work is fun, going to the hospital is no fun at all.
The garage floor coating does not have to be a boring chore either. These coatings come in different colors so you can actually change the way the floor looks, from drab cement colored floor to say a nice red or black or even brown floors. Or, if you are the artistic type you can have a multi-colored garage floor. No matter what you decide at least you will know that your garage floor is slip resistant and much safer than before.
So, coat that floor and make it safer. Then, hang out in the garage, work on your car or your favorite do it yourself projects and clear your mind.

Strangeness

My two women are watching a movie. They do this by turning on the television and inserting a DVD and clicking play.
Then one of them kicks back in the recliner and reads a book while the other gets comfortable in her chair, picks up pen and paper and starts to draw or write. Neither one is looking at the movie. Now if I went in the room and mentioned this both would take offense.
I can only conclude here that (a) the movie is terrible (in which case why have it on?) or (b) they have seen this same movie so many times they are just killing time while waiting for their favorite parts. Either way seems like a waste to me.
However, being the only male human here, I know when to keep my mouth shut, leave the room and stay gone!
My girls are strange...

Rechargeable Batteries

My daughter has a Wii and she uses it constantly. She uses it to exercise, to play games and to watch the stupidest videos on Youtube also known as The Soup. Of course she rarely ever turns the thing off so it is available right away I guess. She also goes through a lot of batteries for the little remote control gizmo that she needs to use the Wii. What this girl truly needs is a very large supply of nimh rechargeable batteries.
I like rechargeable batteries because they save me a lot of money. I use them for my police scanner as well as my "electric" razor. I have extras so some are always charging while the others are being used and I think this is the best way to go.
No matter what you may use batteries for, from hearing aids to your tv remote or even a Wii like my daughter, you really should invest in some rechargeable batteries. This website even has Liquid Image 3.7 volt Li-Ion replacement batteries for Liquid Image goggles whatever that is (sounds cool) in case you need some of those.
Need batteries? Check out the wide variety of batteries available at The Source. And, please, if possible, use rechargeable batteries. Save yourself money as well as helping to save the planet at the same time.

Internet People

Let's face it, everything we do these days seems to revolve around the internet. We watch television here, we watch movies here and we play here. Like many people I would be willing to bet I even have more online friends than offline friends.
I have made a lot of friends on the game site where I am a chat moderator and I have lots of fun interacting with these people through our text chats. But, alas, all is not always rosy.
Yesterday, after a long illness, one of the players that I am friends with lost his significant other. He is, of course, heart broken, as any normal person would be. He was on the game site because that is where his friends are. He did, privately, let a few of us know what had happened, the rest he just left to wonder. Don't blame him, I would most likely do the same in his shoes.
My friend has suffered a lot of hardships in his young life and I feel truly awful about this one. I can only hope and pray that he survives it. Would be a true shame to lose him as well :(

RIP Pam...

Grilling

It's the middle of Summer and that means it is barbecue time for many folks. They can't wait to fire up the grill and cook, many come home from work dog tired but still have lots of energy if it is suggested they grill dinner.
Always seemed like a lot of extra work to me, making sure the grill is clean enough to cook on, do I have the charcoal briquettes, etc. etc. Things could be much simpler if I owned an electric grill, like this beauty:

I really like this grill because it is rather compact and is portable. You can grill in the backyard, the frontyard, heck you can take it to a party at the city park and grill! Now that is convenient. Nice to not have a large hassle if you need to be in a different place to cook.
The other nice part of this grill is that it is compact. Most people do not grill in their yard year-round so the grill has to be stored somewhere, like the garage. This one, being compact, will not take up that much space when you store it away for the year. I like that.
If you like to grill then you owe it to yourself to go and check out all the fine grills this website has to offer. Grab the one that you like best and, once you have it at your house, shop for your favorite grilling foods and throw a party for family, friends, or both.
