Olympics

Hot topic today is the start of the Olympics. I wish I could care but I do not. I liked the Olympics a little bit when I was a kid but the older I get the more I could care less how they go. Maybe it's because they have changed through the years. It used to be all amateurs but not now. Seems like, with the persistent encouragement of a certain country professional athletes are now allowed. So, I wonder, what's the point? Who cares who wins the medals now? Be more entertained watching the Special Olympics. Those people put their hearts and souls into the games and they don't care about anything but having fun. If they win they are excited. If they lose they are excited for the person that won. The Special Olympics athletes could really humble the regular Olympic athletes, both amateur and professional.

Second Chance

I like marriage. I was married for over twenty years with the first wife. We raised four wonderful boys and life was alright. After the kids moved away things changed for whatever reason and the marriage ended. I now have a second chance with a second wife and Life is good again. I always thought that wedding gifts were wedding gifts, same thing no matter how many times one got married and certainly the same for gifts for a second marriage. But, I guess, according to some website, I was in error. They have gifts that are not the typical wedding gift (toaster,bedding,kitchenware). Peace And Quiet

It is quiet in the lobby tonight as I write this, just the way I like it. Gives me a chance to do other things, like write this blog :) Some players complain when the lobby is quiet. I don't know why that is, they should be coming in to play games not just shoot the breeze all the time. Guess you cannot please everyone.... I choose to please myself, I hope the lobby stays quiet and peaceful :)

Sunburn???

My computer set up is in my kitchen right beside a West facing window. This means that it is nice and cool early in the morning and hotter than Hell come late afternoons. One side of my body gets, as you can imagine, an enormous amount of sunshine on it. I have been rather crispy for a while now but haven't let it bother me as I would rather be on the computer. This afternoon I swiveled my chair to talk to my wife and daughter and the child lets out with an "Oh my God!" and grabs my arm like she just saw something horrific. She twists it around and tells her mother that I am sunburned lol I tell them both it is no big deal I have been burnt for a while now, yada, yada, yada. My daughter, who has read way too much BS about the sun and skin cancer goes into the other room, comes back in and grabs my arm and starts slathering lotion on it in spite of my constantly saying "ewww". I am not a lotion kind of guy lol We all did have a chuckle though over how the daughter does not ask me for permission to do this, she just grabs the arm and does it. Her excuse is that she knew if she asked for permission I would have said no. Got to love that young female logic lmao

Light Up A Cigar

The other night my wife and I were sitting at our computers in the kitchen when she started to complain about the smell of my cigarette. She kept saying it smelled like a cigar instead. I told her I hadn't noticed anything different and she got a tad grumpy, telling me a couple of times to "inhale". This made me laugh because I always inhale my cigarette smoke. Her complaining also made me think back to much younger days when I used to smoke cigars as well as cigarettes. Perhaps unfortunately for my poor lungs, I inhaled that smoke as well.
