Okay, so I have been home for a few days, taking my meds and using the inhalers and the oxygen they sent home with me.
The company that gave me the oxygen when I left the hospital said on Monday they do not accept my insurance company and I would have to get it straight with my doctor. Told them I had an appointment next Tuesday and they say okay.
Yesterday another oxygen supply place showed up to deliver oxygen tanks and a machine. WTH? I didn't do it but thought the first company did and was thinking that was very good business customer service on their part. I was wrong, they didn't do it either lol
It appears that the hospital did it and I am thankful for that. So, first company came and picked up their equipment yesterday afternoon and all is good.
Got a call from doctor's office this morning. My appointment is NOT Tuesday. It is Monday! Hate getting old and not keeping better track of dates :(

A Break For Me
I got my Medi_Cal card finally so I contacted the person at the hospital that helped me with the initial application process. I asked her how do I now use the card to pay those hospital bills, roughly forty thousand dollars worth.
Got an email this morning telling me that the hospital has already billed Medi-Cal for those two visits. That means I don't have to go to the hospital and deal with their payment folks. A break for me.
She also told me how I can use the card to pay the ambulance bills. All I have to do is send them a copy of my card and they will bill Medi-Cal directly from there. This is good because I have no clue where the ambulance company is located lol
So, breaks for me and a great day as well!

Great News
Great news for me. After seven months of red tape and other government baloney I finally got approved for Medi-Cal from the state of California.
This means that soon I will be free of the hospital debts from the two visits I made during the Winter. It is a load off my mind!
I have to wait a few more days tho, as they send the plastic Medi-Cal card seperately. Once I have that in my hands I am good to go. I am very excited!
I'm happy not just because of the hospital debts, but because I really do need some insurance. I can barely move around without tiring myself and getting out of breath. Ugh! I am hoping that I will be able to see a doctor and get some sort of breathing treatments for this COPD I have. Or some sort of mobility device to help my bad back. I am afraid to leave the house for anything other than a short walk to the curb and back.
Also an eye exam would be nice. I have not had my eyes examined in ten years or more. Sometimes sitting here at this monitor for too long gives me the most awful headaches and dizzy spells. Not good.
So, today I am a very happy camper :)

Finally!
When I got pnuemonia back in November and went to hospital with no insurance a young lady came to visit me to tell me I needed to apply for a program called Medi-Cal. Being poor and without insurance I agreed. What's the worst that could happen?
Finally, today, almost 5 months later I got a letter from the Medi-Cal folks. Looks like they have approved my case. Great news since, having been to the hospital twice in that time I owe them around forty thousand dollars.
I am very happy to finally get some relief, not just from those bills, but in knowing that, once I get a card and everything I can go visit a doctor if I need to.
I apologize for not updating this blog the past week or so. I have been extremely busy over on the game site. the boss has taken a leave of absence and left me in charge of the 12 hours of night time moderators. It has been hectic at best.
