Emergency

My Co-Admin posted the other day in the Mods only chat that we were going to have an emergency meeting next Sunday afternoon/evening. Since then two of the Mods have come to me in private asking if they are in trouble. Too funny.
We do need a Mod meeting to get some things straightened out. Mostly the issue of respect.
Since the two of us took over for the retired Admin some of the Mods have not paid us our just dues and that has to stop. We are in charge, not them. The players need to get that message as well, too often they send private messages to a Mod that should be directed to the Admins. The sad part there is that the Mod getting the message isn't forwarding it to us, they are trying to take care of the problem themselves which is not their job.
Hard to be an Admin without the respect that the job requires.

Like Little Children

I really love my job as a chat moderator but there are times when I wonder why. Yesterday I chat banned a player for bashing the Mods and he is terribly upset. It appears that he feels as though he is being picked on, singled out perhaps and he doesn't understand why.
He complained on a forum where all the other players can see it and reply if they so wish. I replied explaining that bashing the Mods will not be tolerated and advising him to read the chat rules of the site. This apparently made him angrier and he now thinks calling me a nasty little man and saying that I am not God will win him favor? hmmm...one of us is dumber than I thought.
I never once thought of being a Mod as being God, I just enforce the rules as the site asks me to do. Most days go by without a hitch and all the Mods are thankful for those days. Some days we just are left to scratch our heads and wonder why we put in so many hours every day of the week without any payment.

Drama Online

Some of the game moderators on our game site have left but they didn't leave happily it seems. They are now intent on bashing the site as well as the moderators left behind and anyone that agrees with those of us left behind.
While this is bothersome to some, I don't care. I enjoy a good argument especially when I am arguing with my tongue in cheek. They think they are highly intelligent creatures but they do not seem to grasp that what I answer them on a certain social networking site is just me being facetious. I am a sarcastic person so online drama can be a lot of fun for me.
I only wish these people would realize that they are full of beans when they say that they do not think about the game site or the people they are bashing. If they were not on their minds then why spend so much time and energy bashing them?
Perhaps they should all grow up now and try to remember that they are adults. If these were kids I could understand the fuss. But these are not even young adults, they should all know better at this stage of their lives.
Meanwhile the drama continues...
