Laminate

You ever notice how often when you look at pictures of fancy homes just how many have wooden floors? Then you wonder how hard it is to keep those floors in good shape? You wouldn't mind having wood floors either but, you know, you have children, pets, your house is lived in, it isn't a showcase home. No problem!
With a laminate floor you too can have that fancy home floor and still keep the kids, the pets, the spouse. And these laminated floors are much easier to keep up than the traditional wooden floors but they look just as beautiful.
Tell me, is this real wood or laminate?

Looks like wood, doesn't it? But it is a laminated floor! And, as you can see, the child can play on it.
Make your house look like you won the lottery, get yourself a laminated floor for your home.

Tiling

I love the house I am living in, it has carpet all over the place except for the kitchen and the bathroom, both of which have tile flooring. The tiles are rather plain looking, all white and no design on them which is too bad. I kind of like looking at floors that have a design on them. And, these tiles are getting rather funky looking, have no idea why exactly but I might want to change them sometime in the future and, if I do, they will not be replaced with the same tile design.
I was looking at glass mosaic tiles because there are some great designs with these sorts of tiles. I really am enamored by this one:

Imagine how nice this would look in a kitchen. Imagine too how shiny and bright it will look when the sunlight hits it from the kitchen windows. Whoa! That might be blinding, but I would still love it. It is a little expensive but, hey, it is a mixture of glass and stone. And, it is rather exotic looking I think.
If you are like me, tired of looking at the same old pattern of your tile floors or, even better, tired of carpeting and want tile flooring, I urge you to go check out all the great designs available and think about changing your flooring too.
Not only will new tile floors enhance your home for you, if you decide to sell your house prospective buyers will enjoy seeing something out of the ordinary. This would make a great selling point!

Door Chimes

I don't know why but it seems like doorbells have never been all that pleasant. Maybe it's just the cheap sound that they make because the company that built the house didn't want to go the extra mile and get something more expensive. Or perhaps it's because they never seem to last very long before the sound goes out of tune.
Wouldn't it be nice to have someone come to your door and you hear something pleasant, like door chimes? Of course it would. But, you are maybe thinking that you don't want to mess around with the old doorbell and all the wiring that is involved, right? Well, think again, my friend, because you don't have to do any of that wiring stuff if you don't want to.
Dimango dot com carries a large variety of both plugin and battery operated wireless door chime and wireless door chimes. These are do-it-yourself door chime installations that require no additional wiring. Simply plug in the batteries and, voila, you are ready to hear pleasant chimes when someone comes calling.
Of course, if you are a handyman type, they also offer a selection of wired door chimes as well. Personally, I am not good at that sort of thing so I would definitely be going the wireless route.
Whichever suits your fancy though you can get rid of the raspy sounding doorbell that you now own and get something more agreeable to hear when visitors call on you.
