Knee Walkers

I looked at the phrase knee walker and tried hard to think of just what the heck it could be and couldn't think of a single thing. So I went looking for the answer and found it. What knee walkers are is a small scooter assembly that enables people with injuries below the knee to maneuver around while they are recovering. Much more convenient than a crutch and certainly more versatile. Prime examples of this would be a broken ankle or broken foot or an Achilles Tendon injury, something that requires non-weight bearing on a leg. These scooters enable the patient to still get around while they recover without hurting themselves with the old fashioned crutch devices. Really convenient looking:
As you can see, the injured leg is up in the air, with no weight being put upon the injured portion but still the patient can get around. The one in the picture even has brakes helping the patient to stop if need be. These knee walkers are for rent, as most injuries of this type are short term injuries. Throw away those old crutches and get yourself more mobility with a knee walker!

Aircast Boots

Because I have osteoporosis in my back and my hips I have, some days, a lot of difficulty walking anywhere, even the few steps from this chair to the coffee pot can be a trial. Thankfully my lower legs and my feet are okay or I would probably never walk at all. I cannot imagine how people with foot trouble walk, even with the help of a brace, but they do walk and they seem to walk better than I do some days.
What is a boot, you ask? Well, an aircast boot looks like this:

Doesn't look all that comfortable, does it? But I'm sure they are more comfortable than trying to walk while in serious pain. The boot pictured above has Foam-filled aircells to cushion the ankle for both comfort and support. So, at least one can walk without screaming in agony every step of the way and they can heal if it is something temporary and be in comfort if the problem is permanent.
