Would you?

The other night I got an email showing that one of my granddaughters had answered an ex boyfriend on her Facebook page. I got the email because I had replied to her post and so I get everything else that follows that reply. Usual stuff, I get a lot of those types of emails from Facebook.
What made this one different though is that she had included her Skype phone number, asking that young man to call her when he could. This immediately got my attention. I went straight away to her Facebook page and sent her a message saying I don't think it's a wise idea to put her phone number, even a Skype number, on such a public website.
I also went to Skype later that evening and found this young lady fairly fast. We had a very nice chat and she told me she had removed that reply with the phone number so I was relieved.
I have to wonder though how often young people do this sort of thing without thinking. A few months back, one of my grandsons destroyed a cell phone. He got a new one and immediately posted this new cell phone number on his Facebook page so all his college buddies could update their phones with his new number.
Am i being paranoid to think that these young people should have more sense? The internet is not the safest of places, we all know this. yet we continue to trust it just the same and put personal information out there on the Information Highway without thinking about where that highway goes.
No matter your age, I do hope you use some common sense when putting things on the internet. I know I do.

When I was younger people used to say that a pregnant woman ate a lot more because she was "eating for two". I never was totally positive that was true or not, but I saw pregnant women that could really pack the food away. Perhaps they were not eating (food) for two but were somehow attempting to get enough vitamins in their bodies for two. Hot And Humid??

One of the things that I love about the desert where I live is the heat. So much nicer than the freezing cold of Winter. It is a dry heat so it's just simply hot. But today it is also humid as the weather people call for a 20% chance of rain.
I do not like hot and humid. Ugh! Humid heat just makes you feel all sticky from sweating. If you take a shower and come back out into the humid heat you feel all sticky again. That just doesn't seem right :(
The other thing I dislike about hot and humid is that it makes me sleepy. Like I am not lazy enough, Mother Nature has to help me be lazier? Thanks for nothing! LOL

I'd pray for the rain but I know better. If it rains, this desert becomes almost unbearable. I'll be turning on a fan and hiding in the bedroom if it rains. Sleeping, of course. Humidity does that ya know LOL

Too Hot Now?

Summer is here, no doubt about it. Temperatures here in Southern California are soaring, here in the desert it has been over the century mark the past few days as we head for the heat of the season.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Southern California commuters can now say they've seen it all, including a naked man in the middle of Interstate 405. California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada said the first call came at the height of rush-hour Thursday - a man with no clothes was in the center divide of the freeway. Then came a rush of calls reporting the man in the buff.

Long Beach police detained the 21-year-old man and gave him a mental health evaluation.

Police said he was taken into custody and will be charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure.

Is It Really Free?

In my quest for making money online, I, like a lot of people, do some select PTC sites. I know they only pay in pennies, but pennies do add up to dollars so I use the ones that have paid me as every dollar counts.
Using these PTC sites I have to look at a lot of ads. A lot of them try their darndest to sell you something, E-books or software, things that will make you richer than your wildest imaginings!
A lot of these ads also claim that they can make you rich without it costing you anything. FREE! is what the ads claim. I like free, who doesn't want something for nothing? But, I have to wonder if the whole thing is free, how does one make anything? Sometimes it's obvious, they want you to buy their book/software/magic potion and then you can turn around and sell that same thing to as many suckers online as you can find.
If you have to go out and advertise the product, then is it really free? Of course not, but you have to admit it all sounds good. Get rich for free? Not even in my imagination.
Even a winning lottery ticket will cost me a dollar. Which means I better click another one hundred penny ads...
