Way Too Hot

We are one third of the way through Summer and the sidewalk is hot enough that one could fry eggs on it, although I never have seen anyone do that. As if the heat from the weather isn't enough, I came out of my cool bedroom this morning and entered into the kitchen, also known as the gates of Hades. Must have been another twenty degrees hotter in that kitchen than it was outside, my lovely wife was cooking spaghetti and adding fuel to the fire.
I will be the first to admit that I am as skinny as a stick. Even though I am that thin I am sweating in this heat like there is no tomorrow. I cannot imagine how much tougher it must be for those with some extra baggage to carry around.
If you are one of these people with a few extra pounds to get rid of, don't wait for the pounds to be sweat off, do something about it. Surely you will enjoy a lighter, slimmer, less sweatier you. But, what are the safest diet pills that work?
Well, my friends, you could spend countless hours being bored to death on the internet doing some heavy duty research of your own or you could be smart and save all that time by visiting the site that has done the research for you.
Once you have determined which diet pills are the ones for you, I urge you to take that information and discuss it with your doctor. The doctor will know if those pills will do anything detrimental to your personal medical situations. Better safe than sorry!
Shed those unwanted pounds and then get yourself outside in your favorite bathing suit or shorts and tee shirt and enjoy the lovely warmth of Summer.

Hot Hot Hot

Well, after all my whining during the Winter and Spring, Summer has arrived here in the desert.
Too bad for me that it hit with a bang, no warning whatsoever. One day it was cold and the next day it was hotter than hell. Guess I should have been more careful of what I asked for lol
The problem with all this heat is that it makes my computer run way too hot. It is very warm here beside this window, I sit here sweating most of the time and the computers fan runs as fast as it can to try and keep things cooler inside the case.
I have now moved my laptop into the bedroom where it is somewhat cooler in the afternoons. That way I can give the desktop a much needed cooling off period. I can also give myself some relief from this heat I so desperately begged for.

Weird

Yesterday was nice and sunny when I woke up. It was warm in this house, too warm, actually. I got up and came to the living room to find that the heater was on which is always nice for me in the mornings as I use it to loosen up my arthritic joints. But, the heater was sitting around 80 degrees and had been trying hard to bake the house.
This morning I woke up and looked out the bedroom window and saw that it was cloudy and windy and I was cold, very cold. I got up and came into the living room to find the heater is off. WTH? It's a nice day the heater is on, it's cold and funky outside and the heater is off? I think my daughter is backwards LOL

In other news, computer-wise, it is looking more and more like I will have to delete Ubuntu and start over. Today it is acting strangely. I tried to look in some folders that I know are on the computer and it gives me an error message that no such files exist. Not that big of a deal until it gave me the same error message when I told it to let me look at the hard drive :(

Too Hot

My new computer is working great and I am happy with it. So much faster again than using that old laptop :)
The problem is that it is hot. It's around 110 degrees here and everything in the house is hot too. But the computer seems to be running hot as well and that can't be too good for it. I have a small fan running and aimed directly at the computer to help cool it off. I also set the computer on its side and am hoping that will help some too.
They need to make a computer that is rough and tough enough for the heat of the desert with extra fans inside of it and perhaps an exhaust fan or two to draw the heat away from the circuit boards and outside the computer.
But, in spite of the heat I am a happy camper computer-wise again :)

Hot And Humid??

One of the things that I love about the desert where I live is the heat. So much nicer than the freezing cold of Winter. It is a dry heat so it's just simply hot. But today it is also humid as the weather people call for a 20% chance of rain.
I do not like hot and humid. Ugh! Humid heat just makes you feel all sticky from sweating. If you take a shower and come back out into the humid heat you feel all sticky again. That just doesn't seem right :(
The other thing I dislike about hot and humid is that it makes me sleepy. Like I am not lazy enough, Mother Nature has to help me be lazier? Thanks for nothing! LOL

I'd pray for the rain but I know better. If it rains, this desert becomes almost unbearable. I'll be turning on a fan and hiding in the bedroom if it rains. Sleeping, of course. Humidity does that ya know LOL

Too Hot Now?

Summer is here, no doubt about it. Temperatures here in Southern California are soaring, here in the desert it has been over the century mark the past few days as we head for the heat of the season.
Think it isn't hot here in the rest of Southern California as well? Think again:

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Southern California commuters can now say they've seen it all, including a naked man in the middle of Interstate 405. California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada said the first call came at the height of rush-hour Thursday - a man with no clothes was in the center divide of the freeway. Then came a rush of calls reporting the man in the buff.

Long Beach police detained the 21-year-old man and gave him a mental health evaluation.

Police said he was taken into custody and will be charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure.

Let's Get Real

In my last blog entry I wrote about the coming of Summer and the heat it is bringing to me here in the desert. (7 degrees outside at the moment, way too hot for most people.
As I sit here writing this I am sweating, a lot. Normal I'm sure with that temperature, right? Well, for those that do not know me let me tell you something. I am roughly five foot nine inches and I weigh 103 pounds on a good day. I cannot help but wonder just how badly most people are sweating on a day like today since so many people are obese or, at the very least, overweight. How do they survive? I live with two females that are somewhat overweight. They are hot, sweaty and cranky on days like today. Since the temperatures are not going to go down anytime soon, like three months, they are going to want to lose some of their excess poundage so that they can be more comfortable. But, where do you go to find the right products?
I found this website called weight loss stories that has evaluated a variety of weight loss products and reviewed them based on certain criteria like proven results and company reputation.
They show you a scale of between 1 and 100 for these criteria which is nice. They also offer a link to the official website of the product so that you can do more research if you wish. Finally, they give you the retail value of the product and then the cheapest price they have found online.
I like sites that do the research for me so that I do not have to spend hours or days finding it myself. Not that I am lazy, but it is too darned hot to sit at the computer that long. Heck, the females in my house don't want to spend very long sitting here basking in the sunshine either.
I shall point them to this website in the evening when things have cooled off some. I'm sure they will appreciate it.
If you live in a hot climate like we do, perhaps you should visit the website yourself. Get rid of some of that excess weight you are carrying around that makes you sweat too much.

Too Hot?

As I write this entry it is a lovely 97 degrees outside. There is a slight breeze coming through an open window but it is not that cool of a breeze. It's okay though, I have been waiting for this lovely weather all Winter.
Unfortunately my computer has not been waiting expectantly for this weather. Yesterday, which was cooler than today, the computer got too hot. The poor fans inside were running long and hard so I finally decided to shut it down and let the processor cool off a little. Imagine my surprise when, a few minutes later, I turned the computer back on and it refused to start! I pulled the plug, took the side panel off and left it wide open for a brief period of time. Poor thing was way too hot.
I am waiting today to see if it overheats again. I have the side panel ajar to let more air flow into the case. I do not want the computer to melt from all that heat!
If this continues I shall have to make some changes here. I am thinking a small fan aimed directly at the processor should do the trick. I imagine I can pick one up at Walmart cheaply enough.
I'll have to do something. It is only the beginning of June, Summer is not even officially here, and I know that the desert is not going to get any cooler in July or August.
I may like the warmth but my computer obviously does not.

Get The Home Fires Burning

Okay, I know, I know. It's Spring now and the weather is turning warmer. It is here in the desert anyway. But, the nights are still not all that warm and if the wind is blowing (which is normal for this time of year) it can be downright cold! Certainly would be nice to get warm hanging around a beautiful fireplace all lit up and burning brightly.
And, because the Winter is officially over (the calendar says so) now is a great time to buy a fireplace or, if you're one of those that likes to hang around the patio at night, then you should consider checking out the outdoor fireplaces. Indoor or out, it's time for the Winter Deals at this fireplace site. You can get a great fireplace for warmth and save some of that cold hard cash of yours. It's a win-win situation.
If you're like me and you rent your living space and you'd like a fireplace, they have some great free standing ones too. I personally like this one:

You can have a fireplace and, should you move, you can take the fireplace with you. How cool is that? And, here is the description of the above fireplace:

The nice thing is that, if you just want to enjoy the fireplace without the extra heat you can do that. Just snuggle up with your lover and enjoy the flames. Nice and romantic.
And, you can move some of the fireplaces, like the one I showed above, from room to room or even outdoors to the patio area if you like. But, these fireplaces are affordable so you may wish to buy more than one. And, with the Winter Deals going on now, free shipping and no sales tax (outside of AL) you just can't beat these deals.
You owe it to yourself to go and check them out today. Get those home fires burning.

Strange Spring

Today is a little on the cool side, yet yesterday was almost like summer, with temperatures in the high 80's. Why can't Mother Nature make up her mind already?LOL
Maybe it will warm up again around noon.I hope so,because I am not a cool weather person! I like it hot, that's why I like the desert. Although, I won't be shocked if in the summertime I complain about the heat.I have noticed that with every passing year I get less comfortable with the heat. Odd how that happened.
I've lived in this desert for the better part of forty-odd years. I hated the heat when I first moved here, but after a summer or two, I was used to it and then I grew to love it. But, now that I am older (57) I am going backwards, to where the heat seems to much for me. I guess the solution would be to just become a nudist and let it all hang out and get myself an all over tan LOL
