Bully!

This is what a player called me today. Not just once, but twice!
The player sent in a ticket to Support claiming that I am nothing more than a bully to him because he beat me. I should not represent the site because I am this terrible bully and I made his rank go way down.
He also went to my profile page and left me a comment saying essentially the same thing. it is my fault that his rank went down.
I wish I had control over the players ranks as my own rank stinks. If I could change the ranks, surely I would improve my own lol
I get quite a chuckle out of the players at times, more so when they give me more credit than I am due.

Getting Worse

Looks like the wife is feeling worse rather than better :(
She got lots of rest and sleep yesterday and last night but this morning she is still full of mucus and now has a terrible headache. Not good.
The child is still sounding like she is sick but I did let her leave the house this afternoon to go get some food. Sick or healthy we still have to eat! Sent her out for pizza, hope that will satisfy both of my sick girls.
Waiting for word on one of the Mods too. Yesterday her blood pressure went up sky high and doctor ordered her to hospital. Looks like her kidneys are failing :( Definitely not good.

Retirement

The boss came into the lobby tonight and let the players know that come the end of January she will be gone as Admin and just a regular player. She has had enough and is retiring.
Everyone says they will miss her although some of them players were secretly grinning from ear to ear I know. Their joy will be short-lived though as she has already picked her replacements. Yep, plural. two Mods will become Admins and the players are not going to be all that thrilled at who she has picked I guarantee that much.
She has not told anyone other than those that truly needed to know who the two mods are and that suits me just fine. The less the players know about it the better since it is none of their business anyway.

Sick Again?

Looks like I might end up back in hospital if I am not careful. Too much stress, not sleeping well, it all adds up after a bit :(
I am trying my best not to get too stressed out but it is difficult lately. A mod has a sick Mom who is most likely dying and he cannot do his shift. Another wants to quit and I never know if she will show up or not. A third Mod lost her internet for 3 days. Ugh!
Today seems a little calmer and I am trying to take advantage of that. I am not in the lobby looking at chat. I was on Skype but avoided the Mod box to talk to someone in private and then I closed it down so that I could do other things I needed to do like write this blog post.
When dealing with a group of people, there is always, ALWAYS, something...

To Silly

The headline blurb said Bert and Ernie are NOT gay! What has the world come to? We worry now if puppets and muppets are straight or gay? How odd and definitely how silly!
People need to get a Life, they spend way too much time thinking about the darndest things.

In other news, personal news, looks like I am going to lose another Mod :( She has been on the game site as a Mod for a long, long time (measured in years) and is tired and wants a break. Also she tells me the drama that is going on around us and the players is getting to sickening for her and she definitely wants a break from that as well.

In the meantime, I have work to do so I cannot play...

Great Joke

Last night in the lobby I was having a bit of fun with one of the players and another Mod. The Mod had used a bunch of capital letters in a sentence, a rule violation. I was teasing the Mod about having to take away his chat for that like we do the players.
One of the players was telling me things like kick him hard! and make sure to leave a red mark with that boot.
The other Mod had to go to work so we decided to have some fun with the player. The Mod didn't say good-bye in the lobby and, after awhile, another Mod came into the lobby to ask me what happened to Bubba. I told her I gave Bubba three hours of silence for using those caps. The player was horrified! Kept telling me over an over that he was just kidding, he didn't really want me to boot Bubba. It was hilarious!
Off and on for the next seven or eight hours the player would mention that I booted a fellow Mod. A lot of the players now must really think I am a tyrant. If I will boot a moderator what chance do they have to misbehave? LOL
I guess I will have to send the player a mail telling him he just had his leg pulled, it was all a joke.

Who's The Boss?

My game Mod boss is still on her hiatus. I am wondering most days if the woman is ever going to return. She does not answer her phone nor return emails, definitely not good signs!
In the meantime myself and another Mod are still sharing Mod Boss duties as best we can. I have started to take a little more control of things as he has some personal life problems to deal with. Life first, fun second.
Yesterday I convinced Support to give us another moderator. He has been very helpful in the past and had applied to be a Mod but the boss didn't get around to making a final decision. I do know that her initial thoughts were to turn this player down. But I convinced Support to let us have him at least until the Boss is back. Better a temporary solution than none at all.
We really do need the help and the new Mod is as pleased as a kid on Christmas morning. We still have 3 Mods missing, the boss and her partner and one that is out with serious health problems. Where once we were at fifteen Mods we are, with the new Mod, at ten. Ten people to cover what should be covered by at least 12. We are making due though and I am happy that things are going along as smoothly as they are.
Support did tell the owner yesterday that she and I had made this player a Mod and he was okay with it. He also said he is happy that someone is taking the initiative with running things. Something tells me that he does not know if the boss will be returning or not either. Not good.
In the meantime, we continue to play.

No Fun Allowed

Yesterday afternoon some of the players were in the lobby joking around and hinting that they were going to misbehave a little. One of the players said she would be willing to take one for the team and I assumed she meant getting booted from the chat box. So, as a practical joke I gave her a soft boot.
She came right back into the lobby, a little curious as to what had just happened and I explained it to her. It was a joke, and she laughed and told me she "owes me one". She thought it was funny as did all the regulars in the chat lobby. No harm, no foul :)
Then last night I went to visit a forum that has been bashing both the Mods and the site for quite some time. I go there almost every day to see what strange lies they are going to tell now LOL
Imagine my surprise to find the entire lobby chat posted there where I booted the player and we were all joking about it! The topic headline was "Mods need to learn the rules".
Yeah, okay, it is only fun when the players want to have fun and break the rules, seeing just how far they can go before they are booted. When a Mod tries to have a little fun with a player pal then that's taboo? I don't think so!
I am anxious to see how these people react when the new chat guidelines come out. Word I hear is that there will be no warnings as has been in the past. you mess up and good-bye! No warnings, just boots. Sounds good to me.
In the meantime, as a Mod, I will try to remember that I am not allowed to have any fun in the chat area. Don't hold your breath people! LMAO

Peaceful Confusion

Since the boss had a couple of outbursts of anger in the chat lobby things have calmed down considerably, which is nice.
Most of the players are well behaved and it is a shame that a few rotten apples can try to spoil the whole bunch. We are posting that new rules are coming soon and most of our players are saying it is about time. Lots of them are curious to find out what is going to happen and that's a good sign. I would hate it if none of them cared.
The confusing part of it all lies with the chat moderators. What the boss said is interpreted one way by the players that wish to abuse their chat and another way entirely by the mods. Mods too are rather anxious to see what the new rules will be, more so than the players, as we are the ones that will now have to enforce these new rules.
Always fun in the lobby...

Lobby Is On Fire

Some of the players on our game site are, well, less than adult-like. That is putting it mildly though politely. They come in solely to see how much trouble they can cause before they get their chat removed. It's more of a game to them than the games that we offer them to play.
Things have really heated up the past few days, with the old crew coming back in force, almost like they wish to take the Mod jobs back and run the site the way it used to run. This would mean that, if you were part of their clique then anything goes. If you were not part of their clique then you were not welcome in the lobby at all. I assume this is part of the reason the site owner got rid of them all to begin with, now they think they may take it back?
So, the current Mod boss has been fuming lately. She blew her top several times in the lobby, as did her better half. They have pretty much let it be known that they are not planning on giving up without a nasty fight!
Yesterday she came into the lobby and let it be known that within the next few days new lobby chat rules will be in place and where the players can go to read them once they are posted. I am not sure but I have the feeling that the major change will be "no warning". Step out of line and the Mods will not say don't do that, they will just boot you. Other sites do this, they give the players no warnings at all, they just kick them. Sounds good to me.
I have no doubt that all of the troublemakers will run to their respective other chat areas to cry, moan and complain to each other on how it isn't fair. If they have no chat room to go to then I guess they will have to IM each other on Yahoo or MSN or whatever. Poor things.
The alternative will be worse and they really won't like that. The boss threatened to close down the lobby all together, and no chat would not be a good thing for any of us.
Time will tell. Stay tuned for more details as they happen.

Long Week

It is going to be a long week for me. One of the Mods is going away for the week to visit a daughter and I am moving up one shift to cover hers. Not a bad thing really, but the hours will make it seem worse than it really is.
I usually am in the game lobby from 9 p.m. to midnight my time but this week I will be there from midnight to 3 a.m. my time. This time of the day is generally dead in the lobby so it might be hard for me to keep myself entertained and alert. I will do my best though as I don't want to be shirking my mod duties.

Calm After The Storm

Nice and peaceful in the chat lobby today and I hope it stays that way. All the drama is over on Facebook but that's okay. Better there than in the lobby.
We need some peace and quiet in that lobby. One of the Mods has found himself with incredibly high blood pressure, enough to cause a stroke or heart attack, he doesn't need any extra stress at this point in time.
That Mod will be taking a few days off of his duties and, hopefully, resting himself and giving the meds his doctor gave him some time to work and bring that BP down. His job is stressful enough, so the lobby can be all the extra to do the man in and I would hate to see that happen.
So, I pray for the rest of the night to be as calm and quiet as the day has been. My shift starts in another hour and a half or so, I want peace in there.
