Let's Ride

The weather is getting nicer every day, warmer weather replacing all the cold of Winter. It's that time of year to dig out the ATV's and motorcycles and ride, baby, ride.
But before you get all excited and jump onto that bike singing Born To Be Wild at the top of your lungs, take a close look at that old helmet of yours. Check it for wear and tear and cracking. Helmets do not last forever you know.
If there is any wear and tear then it is time to replace that helmet with a nice, new, hjc helmet. These helmets come in a variety of styles and colors for both adults and children.
LeatherUp also has a nice selection of other gear you might want for your riding pleasure, like motorcycle jackets, saddlebags, heck they even sell motorcycle boots.
Make sure you are prepared for the joyful rides you take in this lovely weather. Wherever you go, stay safe. Wear that helmet!

Spring?

It was cloudy and funky looking yesterday and a bit on the cold side even though the sun kept popping in and out of the clouds.
Today is rain, rain and more rain. Along with this lovely wet stuff came thunder and lightning. It's supposed to stay this way until tomorrow. Oh, joy.
So much for Spring ans warmth...

Just Shoot Me

Insert favorite swear words here!
Last night I reread the previous post about moving Itunes to an external hard drive and went through with it. Moving the files was okay but that was all that was okay.
Once moved I plugged in my daughters Ipod and that's when it all went south.
Itunes tells me that the Ipod can only be synched to one computer and this isn't it! What???
Okay I panicked. I removed the Ipod and moved the files back to their original location. I plugged the Ipod back in and got the same error message. Oh, crud.
So, now my daughter's Ipod can no longer be synched. How wonderful. Not!
Damn you Apple and Itunes!

Medical Scrubs

It is Spring. I can tell because the weather is getting slightly warmer and the sun seems a bit brighter outside my window. Nice weather it is out there.
Time to get rid of the heavy duty clothing and think about lighter gear, something you can be comfortable. Something like medical scrubs.
Do not scoff at that statement. Have you ever seen a nurse or doctor pulling at their clothing trying to get that 'just right" fit? Me neither. they always look comfortable in those scrubs they wear.
And these days the medical scrubs are not just plain old white or some other color. Heck they even come with cartoon favorites on them like Garfield or Minnie Mouse. They even have this one that resembles a jigsaw puzzle:

Jump on over to the website and check out all the nice scrub tops and bottoms available. they have large sizes too in case you haven't lost those extra Winter pounds.

Just For Myself

Found this online and will need it later:

Absolutely
And it's easy to do. Simply move your entire Itunes Library (generally your "My Music" folder on Windows) to the external hard drive while Itunes is shut down. Bring up Itunes, then reconnect to that library on the external drive. That's all there is to it. Remember, of course, that you need that drive connected all the time to update podcasts, and when syncing your Ipod.

Enjoy.

Big Agnes

Sorry folks, but no, this is not about any of my ex-girlfriends named Agnes. this is about Big Agnes tents. Very nice tents and accessories they are too.
Summer is coming and for many that means it's time to go camping. Whether those plans mean going high up into the mountains or simply hanging out by a lake, Big Agnes has a tent for you. These tents are ultralight, meaning they are much less bulky and easier to carry than the old traditional tents. If you are a backpacker and love the mountains you will appreciate the lighter weight.
Whether your needs are for just one person or a group of six people Big Agnes has you covered (pun intended) with the right tents as well as the right sleeping bags. Whatever your camping needs are be sure to check the products that Big Agnes has to offer you. Then get ready to plan your greatest backpacking/camping trip ever.

Strange People

We get some really odd people in our game lobby. People that have managed to bypass the names filter so they can use profanity (does them no good, we turn them in for anme changes anyways) to people that just wish to be deleted.
Today we had both lol. The first one was named fucitfucit. No K but the implication is clear. He will not be back without a name change.
The second one just wanted to spam the chat lobby with the lovely message of "Die all". He did it over and over and over until the Mod on duty could get the boot open and kick him. He won't be wishing us anything for the next 3 days lol
Seems a shame to waste your own time, the time of many others as well, just to show the world that you are stupid. But, hey, it takes all kinds to make the world go around.

Electrosurgery

Years ago when I was a young man surgeons did operations when they had to, not necessarily because they wanted to. Perhaps this is because they only had their hands and their scalpels and other cutting instruments to depend on. Or perhaps it is because we were not as surgery happy a society as we are today.
Today things are different. More surgeries are being performed and the instruments are much more precise. Instruments of electrosurgery for example are very precise instruments. Using these instruments a doctor or dentist can make a precise cut with a minimum of blood loss. This is great for both patients and doctors.
I remember as a teenager getting my tonsils out and it took a lot longer because the doctor cut them and I bled like crazy. He had difficulties in finishing up the job and still managing to keep from bleeding to death. I felt really bad for him because i wasn't a bleeder and I have no idea what happened that would cause me to bleed so much unless he cut them tonsils incorrectly somehow. If he had had these electrosurgery tools that job would have been simpler, easier, and quicker.
There are tools that use this technology that cover your entire body, from head to toe. So, next time you are having a surgery procedure done ask the doctor if he intends on using these tools. If he is, you can rest assured that the cutting done will be very precise.

How Odd

I spent several hours yesterday working on this computer, moving files from the internal hard drive to an external hard drive. I was trying to clean up some space as I only had 8 Gig of free space left out of 40.
I moved all the program files of programs that I normally use every day. I deleted a whole bunch of files that I no longer needed. then I moved all the photos and music I could find over to the external drive.
Guess how much space i have on the hard drive now? 8 Gigs. How in the heck that happened is way beyond me.
The only thing I did not move and I am not sure I can and still keep the person using the program happy is Apple ITunes. It takes up a ton of space on my hard drive just so she can recharge her IPod and use the ITunes store. Bah!
I have not liked Apple since they came out with the Macintosh and I still do not think very highly of them or their products when it comes to my hard drive.

PS3 Bundles

When I was a kid we laughed at things like Barbie and other toys that had accessories that came separately. But the trend continued and now days everything that is fun comes with accessories that make the games more enjoyable. the PlayStation 3 is no exception. If you want to get the most out of the gaming system then you really need to look into ps3 bundles.
Like any other gaming console on the market no matter what games you wish to play on them you must have at some point the right accessories. So, you may as well get them all at the beginning so that you are ready for every game they make. Face it, you are not simply going to buy one game and play it only. There are way too many fun games available and most of them are bound to catch your fancy.
Don't dilly dally, check out the great games and bundles that are available now. grab that PS3 and get gaming like never before!

Where's The Groom?

My daughter, the wedding fanatic has everything about her wedding planned well in advance. She showed it all to me last night.
She has pictures of her wedding dress, her bridesmaids outfits, the table decorations, everything that one will need to get married in high style.
There's only two little hitches to her plan. First off she is going to have to go out and get a job because I certainly have no way to pay for these things. And, even if I had the money I probably wouldn't spend it on that high fashion idea of hers.
The other problem is that she has no groom. Heck, the girl doesn't even have a boyfriend let alone a fiance.
I'm thinking my twenty year old daughter needs to put away all her wedding books, get out of that fairy tale world she is living in and get a grip on reality. Wedding plans are nice and all but, geez, wait until you find a groom first then worry about the wedding.

Skid Steer

The city where I live has been on a tear lately about improvements to older neighborhoods like mine. they have grumbled about every little thing from the trash cans being seen from the street (who drives down a street looking to see if trash cans are visible?) to the dirt in between the sidewalks and the curbs. Oh, and the yards.
In my neighborhood the planners thought that all houses should have really huge yard areas. Nice if you have kids, a place to play that is close to the house and safer than the streets. Unfortunately the large yard areas just tend to produce a lot of weeds and tumbleweeds. The city would like better vegetation in these areas.
In between my house and the street there is an enormous amount of dirt and weeds. Great place for a humongous garden if one wanted one. However it would take a ton of man hours of back breaking labor to do such a project. This project would be much easier with a skid steer. Once you start digging up all that dirt you are going to have to move it somewhere. Too many trips with a simple wheelbarrow. ugh.
I somewhat like the idea of a large area of vegetation. I am thinking of planting pine trees all over the yard so that, if nothing else, my trashcans cannot be seen from the street. Neither will they see my house.

Modern Woman

My twenty year old is a true modern woman. She cannot hear her mother screaming at the top of her lungs even though they are only one room apart but, she can answer her silly cell phone.
I call, she answers "Why?" in a smart aleck tone.
Me, being a sarcastic sweetheart of a male "Because you cannot hear your name being screamed from the next room".
End of conversation :)

Fabrics

There comes in the time of every chair or sofa or divan's lifetime when the fabric has got to go. It's upholstery time!
Most people will call the nearest upholstery shop and get an estimate of the cost and time involved. Most of those will sigh at the answers and hang up telling the shop they will have to think about it.
Many people will skip that call and start thinking of doing the job themselves. Their minds will be on designer upholstery fabric that will give that piece of furniture new life.
Having never been very handy at handyman or do-it-yourself projects I would probably hand the job over to an expert, my lovely wife. She would, no doubt, have grand ideas of a fabric that would be "just perfect". Me, I hardly ever look at the furniture other than to make sure i am not about to sit on the dog or any sharp objects the daughter has left behind.
Fabric On The Net has a wide variety of great fabrics to choose from. From Crewel Embroidered Floral to Sealife / Water Drapery Fabric you are bound to find a pattern that will fit you, your lifestyle and your budget.
Don't be one of those that calls a shop, give the do-it-yourself route a try and save a lot of money while getting exactly the fabric that you want.

Long Night

Something tells me this is going to be a long night in the lobby. Lots of nights seem long but this one might be one of the longer nights.
Like all good software people, the techs are at it again. Trying to change things around, fix a thing or two and of course, in so doing, they have managed to muck a few things up.
Might be a very long night of answering the same questions over and over:
"Where are the games?"
"Why can't I register?"
"I registered for the game but my name is not there, why isn't it?"
And as always when things aren't perfect, the site bashing idiots will show up. My boot might get quite a work out if they do because I really am not in the mood for foolish people tonight.
