Do It Right

Drumming is a serious business. If you are a drummer then you know it is up to you to set the right beat to the music around you and that takes the right equipment as well as a variety of drums and drumsticks. What you need is the musician's friend. They have all sorts of Pro-Mark sticks to keep the beats coming and coming for a long time. No matter what kind of beat you are keeping they are bound to have the proper sticks that you will need. And these sticks are made of quality materials so that they can last for many, many songs. Even if you are constantly playing hard rock songs that seem to go on forever these sticks are up to the challenge. Check out all the sticks today and let that beat keep beating!

Pregnant woman?

The nurse was here and said my lungs sound much, much better than when they first came to visit me. He said the first time he listened to my lungs I sounded like a pregnant woman during labor. OMG, too, too funny!

Interesting

but stupid lol The Magic Butt cream that the hospice folks ordered for me costs more than the Advair gizmo that helps keep my lungs working. Why is that???

Amazing

The hospice nurse just left a little while ago. She was very happy with what she saw and what she heard from my heart and lungs :) She didn't even have to yell at me today lol Then the Chaplain showed up. We had a very lovely conversation about Life, wives and children and working for a living. Life is good :) Now I can go torment people online again :)

Too Much White

Ugh! Sitting here playing on Marapets when all of a sudden all I can see is whiteness. Not blank internet pages, just a lot of brightness in my eyes. Checked oxygen tubes immediately and that was fine. Have no clue what the hell happened. Took some meds to calm my heart rate down (and myself I suppose) and it seems to have solved the problem. How can I be a smart ass to people online with all that brightness? lol

Attention Marapet Players

Leave me a comment, don't just gawk at my lovely pictures and leave :( Edit... I don't get it. It says comments are comments are allowed and should open in a pop up. Why won't you work?? Stupid Google :(

Puffy Feet?

Nurse just left a bit ago. All looked okay and/or normal except my foot. Too much swelling in there showing there is fluids that she does not wish to see go from my foot to my lungs. Not sure how that would happen, seems like a strange path to me lol However she was very serious about it and I guess I better be as well. I need to urinate more or she will put me on a diuretic. ugh. Them things will make me pee too much, up and down all night long lol How can I sleep that way? Solution for me is to drink more fluids so that I can pee more and get rid of liquids in my system...

Get Relief

Whether there is something wrong with you or not, there is just something wonderful about getting your body a massage. Even if used for physical therapy there is just something about having all those muscles relaxed and feeling vibrant again. If you would like to help others feel this great relief then I suggest you check out the new school for massage located in Chicago’s River North area. They offer a state-approved Massage and Bodywork Diploma Program that will provide you with everything you will need to pass the exams for getting your license and begin your life as a massage therapist. Already a therapist? Check out their workshops page. They can help you with your Continuing Education credits and perhaps offer you new ways of doing what you are doing. When you are done checking out the pages and getting information, go out and get yourself a massage. Enjoy life feeling relaxed.

Morphine?

Not sure why but the hospice doctors sent me another package of morphine today. I now have 2 or 4 of them and I plan on using none of them. I hope that the pains I have never get to the point where I have to use morphine to kill them. ugh, that stuff scares me... Will definitely talk to the nurse so she can tell the doctor to stop sending that stuff...

Not Good

In the last month I have now lost two of the PTC sites that I visit daily. I was very close to payout on both of them too. Not good for me. The first to disappear was Earn On, a site that paid in Euros meaning I made more from them because I cashed out in dollars. Hate to see that one go! The other one just blipped on me two days ago and it isn't looking good for its return. proBux was that one and like I said I was close to another payout. I really hate when sites do that, I lose money and that is never good. Here is a chuckle tho...one of the sites I use has had serious troubles with payouts. At one point they actually asked members to donate their earnings back to the site. that took guts! Today I noticed they are running an ad for their "new sister site". WTF? You can't pay me on this one but you start up another? Grrrrr EDIT... ProBux is back :) They were adding new servers, not going away :)

Slaving The Day Away?

Time To Dance

Most people just get out on the dance floor and spin wildly out of control, a mass of arm and leg movements that defy any sense. This is modern dancing but what if you really wanted to do real dancing? That will require someone that can teach you how to dance properly. If you are in Southern California or planning to visit for an extended period of time then you can go to visit the Dance Doctor and take dance classes in santa monica by someone that knows quite a bit about dancing properly. Whether you'd like to dance like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever or do a spectacular turn on the dance floor at your wedding (or someone elses) or, gasp, even an older dance like the Charleston, the dnace doctor can help you learn what you need to know to pull these dance routines off. Grab your dancing shoes and get set for a real learning experience. Who knows, maybe you'll eventually end up on Dancing With The Stars!

More Hospice

These people are doing their best to keep up with me. Lots of visits from lots of people lol I have now seen a doctor, two nurses, a minister and a man that keeps bringing me things whether I need them or not. yesterday he stopped by to bring me a package of Depends. I guess old people have accidents a lot lol I am not complaining. I like the fact that they are so concerned for my health and well-being. I truly do. I like it much better now that I have convinced them to visit in the afternoons, not early mornings :)

Typical California

Too typical lol

Hospice, part two

This morning we were awakened by the telephone. It was a chaplain calling saying he would like to come and meet with me. Another part of the hospice service people watching out for me and my needs. Then this afternoon a gentleman showed up to help me if I needed help with bathing and such. I laughed and told him that I had my lovely wife for those things and we laughed. I find it funny that they wish to do so much for me but at the same time I am grateful that they are so willing to look after their patients. I don't need much assistance but I bet those that do are incredibly thankful of this fine company. I see the Chaplain on Monday...

Pump It

Pump it in or pump it out. If you need to pump liquids then you know that you really must have a high pressure pump to get the job done quickly and done well. But, where do you find a high pressure pump? Like anything else you can always search the internet using your favorite search engine and pray they give you the best results, especially where price is concerned. or, you can just click the link above and go straight to the website called We Get Pumps. This is what they sell, high pressure pumps. Whether you need the whole pump or just parts for the pump you already have or even just a booster for a pump, they have those things. If you don't see what you need, don't fret, They have MORE pumps, just Call 888-817-8677. How handy is that? Very handy, indeed! They also have operation and safety manuals available on-line. That's a plus too! Their pumps are 100% made in the USA. Hardly ever see that any more. Made in the USA. They offer free shipping for online orders and they have over $8 million inventory in-stock and ready to ship within 24 hours. So, pump it out or pump it in, whichever need you have, go and get pumped.

Hospice Care

When I left the ER the other day it was with the understanding that I would be getting hospice care. Sounded good to me and I couldn't refuse it. Never pass up great opportunities! They not only set me up with a new oxygen machine they left me two oxygen tanks as a back up or to use if I decide to venture outside the house. Not today, it is raining here lol They also left me a large bag full of medicines. Everything from inhalers to morphine. Morphine?? Yesterday a male nurse came to visit and to help me with the meds. The morphine he said was standard and I didn't need to use it. Phew! Just a ballpark figure but looking at all the inhalers and the pills and the new small machine used for breathing treatments there is easily over five hundred dollars worth of stuff. I feel special :)

Unique Gifts

Gift giving should be as special as the occasion you are giving someone a gift for, be it Mother's Day or a good friends wedding. One has to think carefully about what is the best gift, showing all the love that one has for the gift receiver. One of the best ways to show love and uniqeness with your gifts is with wooden boxes from a company that knows a lot about wooden boxes as well as gifts that are truly special. And the process is fairly simple, making it easy for you. The one getting the gift will never know just how easy it was, certainly brownie points for you there. Start with the box, finished or unfinished. Then add the designs that you want on this box and ta-da, you are pretty much finished. Here is a great example from the website: Creating a wood jewelry box for Mother’s Day: Start with one of our wood boxes with a gold clasp, and browse the options for decoupage or rub-ons to make something unique. Or simply paint the box and add grandchildren’s handprints for a keepsake she’ll be happy to place on her dresser. See what I mean? Very simple yet something a mother would be beaming with pride over knowing her child or grandchild thought so highly of her to do such work. Check out the other great ideas as well as all the boxes and other goodies for craft work that this site has to offer.

Which Right?

Sometimes I wonder whether it is best to do the right thing or what is right by me. The push is still on to do the one thing I really do not wish to do which is go visit a doctor. I already know that I have COPD and it never will get better. I already know that I am way to thin to be healthy for a normal human. I already know that my cigarette habit doesn't help the COPD. So, what the hell do I need a doctor visit for??? I do wish people would realize that I am happy with myself and my life. Isn't that good enough?

RIP Harold Ramis

California Sen. Ronald S. Calderon, brother charged in FBI probe

This article appeared in the Los Angeles Times and is the sole owner of it. I am just reprinting it here for the world to see... By Scott Glover and Hector Becerra February 21, 2014, 7:37 p.m. State Sen. Ronald S. Calderon hopped on a Las Vegas-bound plane last spring for a meeting with an independent film executive and one of the man's investors. But the appointment at the Bellagio hotel took an immediate unexpected turn for the Southern California lawmaker, according to court records. The businessmen Calderon expected to meet were actually FBI agents with an unsettling message: He was under investigation for public corruption, and he could either cooperate with authorities or face the consequences. Calderon (D-Montebello) initially agreed to wear a wire in an effort to implicate other politicians, authorities said. That arrangement eventually fell apart, and on Friday prosecutors announced a sweeping indictment against Calderon charging him with bribery, fraud, money laundering and related offenses. Calderon's brother, Thomas, a former member of the California Assembly, is also charged with money laundering. The charges stem from a scheme in which Ronald Calderon allegedly solicited and accepted nearly $100,000 in cash bribes, as well as gourmet meals and golf outings, in exchange for his influence as a lawmaker. His actions, prosecutors say, helped facilitate a half-billion-dollar healthcare fraud — one of the largest such scams in the state's history. The mastermind of the healthcare fraud was Michael Drobot, who had owned Pacific Hospital in Long Beach. Drobot has admitted to bribing Calderon to use his influence to keep a state law on the books that allowed Drobot to pass on inflated expenses from spinal surgeries to workers' compensation insurers. The surgeries were performed on patients referred by doctors and chiropractors who were paid illegal kickbacks financed by the inflated billings, authorities allege. Drobot told authorities he hid some of the bribe money by paying consulting fees to Thomas Calderon and by paying Ron Calderon's college-age son $30,000 for summer employment in which he worked only a few weeks, according to court records. Drobot has agreed to plead guilty and faces up to 10 years in prison. He has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in their ongoing probe of the Calderons, court documents state. "Mr. Drobot has acknowledged and accepts responsibility for his actions," said his attorney Terree Bowers. U.S. Atty. Andre Birotte Jr. announced the indictments at a jammed press conference at the federal building in downtown Los Angeles. "When public officials choose to callously betray the trust of the people they serve and selfishly line their pockets with money," Birotte said, "then it's up to us ... to make sure we hold those individuals accountable." Bill Lewis, the top FBI official in Los Angeles, said the charges were not just about money. "Corruption robs us of trust in government," he said. Ronald Calderon is expected to surrender Monday morning in Los Angeles and be arraigned in U.S. District Court, prosecutors said. "We welcome the opportunity to disprove these allegations in a courtroom," said his attorney, Mark Geragos. Thomas Calderon surrendered Friday morning. His attorney, Shepard Kopp, said the former assemblyman was expected to be released on a $25,000 signature bond. Kopp said his client "categorically denies ever committing any criminal violation." "Every act described in this indictment was above board and fully legal," Kopp said. "Tom was engaged in his business as a government consultant and was performing these duties and had no knowledge of any illegal activity." Kopp would not discuss specific allegations but said, "I've told the government that Tom's not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing, and now apparently they're going to hear those words from a jury." The Calderon family has been woven into the fabric of southeast L.A. politics, with at least one of three Calderon brothers serving in the state Legislature for the last 32 years. When Ronald Calderon's offices were raided by FBI agents last year, there was a sense among political circles that the investigation would soon corral others — and it did. Soon, federal prosecutors were digging into entities with strong ties to the Calderons. Though he departed early last year after his contract was not renewed, Thomas Calderon has been the subject of wide-ranging subpoenas served at the Central Basin Municipal Water District, where he was seen as an influential field marshal of the public agency's policies. No charges have been brought in that probe. After Ronald Calderon was lured to the Bellagio last year, the senator initially agreed to cooperate and was interviewed for about three hours, according to court papers filed Friday. He agreed to wear a wire and record his conversations with fellow public officials and others, the documents state. But after recording one conversation, he began "postponing" meetings with his FBI handlers. His office was raided by agents armed with a search warrant the next month. Sen. Calderon's entry into what he thought was the world of entertainment was done through an FBI agent working undercover as Rocky Patel, supposedly the head of a small independent studio in downtown L.A., lawmakers told The Times. According to court documents, Calderon agreed to support legislation he knew would benefit the supposed film executive in exchange for the man's hiring Calderon's daughter for a $3,000-a-month job that the senator knew "she simply did not perform." According to one of the senator's former staffers, Calderon grew close to "Patel." "They had a very tight relationship," said the former employee in an interview with The Times. The employee asked not to be named for fear of retaliation. "It was one of those things where if Rocky called, right away you connected him to the senator." scott.glover@latimes.com hector.becerra@latimes.com Times staff writers Richard Winton, Ruben Vives and Patrick McGreevy contributed to this report. Bad News

Looks like the Olympics have brought bad news to the US team. Not only did the Canadian team beat the US team in hockey the Canuks are now laughing that since US lost they get to keep Justin Bieber. Bad news all around. Let's face it, if this idiot boy were any other adult visitor with a VISA or whatever he has (green card?) that adult would be deported for half the crap that Bieber has done. Canada doesn't want him back? Ship him to Mexico or some other country that will have him lol

Crazy

If I wasn't crazy already, the older I get the more crazy I become. I blame this entirely on the female persuasion in my life. The two I live with can be quite interesting. they either act like kids, be it giggling or arguing and screaming, or they are hormonal and you never know what will set them off. LOL I have lived most of my life surrounded by females so it is no wonder to me that I am crazy...

Winter or Spring?

Wish the weather would settle down. Mother Nature appears to be having trouble making up her mind what weather she wants. One day I am freezing and sitting under an electric throw to stay thawed out. The next day I am ready to run around half naked as it feels almost like Summer. Then the weather goes back to cold. What the heck is this? Yo-yo weather? lol I do know for certain that Spring is almost here though. The desert winds have been blowing wild every day :)

Theremin

If you are like me, you are now asking yourself what the heck is a theremin and what does it do? You might also be asking yourself if you need this in your life. The answer to the first I will give you, the latter answer must come from you. One of the oldest electronic instruments, the theremin is the only one known that you play without touching. Moving your hands in the space around its antennas controls pitch and volume.Something tells me this instrument might require a lot of practice before one is good at it but it sounds like a fun project! If you are an electronics nut or even a musician that likes electronic instruments then you should check out and save on theremin kit at musicians friend. Here is what it looks like assembled and on a stand:

You not only get the kit but you also get some help for when it is completed. The make-it-yourself theramin kit comes with 2 videotapes: Clara Rockmore: the Greatest Theremin Virtuosa, which includes performances and a conversation with the world-renowned thereminist, filmed in 1976; and Mastering the Theremin which includes 6 lessons with Lydia Kavina, including exercises designed by Clara Rockmore. Lydia is one of the few professional thereminists in the world and a master teacher on the instrument. This is the main resource you need for learning to play theremin or for improving your technique. So, hang onto your hat and go grab one of these great gadgets and become a theremin virtuoso or just someone that likes to make some unusual sounds.

You Need It

No matter who you are or where you live there is no way out of some things. Insurance, for example. If you drive, you need it. If you have a home, you need it. Want to help your loved ones should you pass on? You need it. The problem is not the insurance, nor even the ability to pay for it. The largest problem is finding an agent that will be there from beginning to end. One that will find the right insurance at the right price for you, not his commission. One that will be there should you ever have questions or concerns or, God forbid, need to file a claim. If you reside in North Carolina then what you need is clearly allredinsurance.com. Established in 1977 they have the years of experience to help you no matter what your insurance needs may be. They partner with a variety of companies so they can find a policy to fit your budget and that's always a great way to give you peace of mind. Need insurance? Of corse you do, we all need it. Check out the website and get yours.

Let's Party

If you are in the Raleigh area of North Carolina and you want to get your party on then you need to get in touch with DJ Bunn and Company on their website. Whether it is for a wedding or a private event, they can get you and your guests dancing the night (or day) away with a great selection of music. The website has all the information you need to know about planning an event with a DJ. This covers things whether you use their services or not, say if you are curious but don't live near North Carolina. Their system seems good, payment is fair and the DJs are well experienced. Hire these folks then you can relax about the music and just get ready to party hearty! So, don't wait, get on over to their website and then go find your dancing shoes, you're gonna need them.

just for myself

On the 14th of February I started two new inhalers. The blue one in the early morning hours and the green one later that night, around dinner time. I just want to see how much each of them is getting used before they run out. The blue one should be first as I use it much more in the course of a day than the green one. I was surprised I had to replace them both on the same day...

The End?

The older I get the more often my brain thinks about Life coming to an end. Morbid, I know, and I don't know if this is normal nor do I care, actually. It's just me and that's all. My eldest son was here for a visit a few months ago and then son number three stopped in for a visit while he was in California a few weeks back. My son number two is coming in a few days for a visit and the youngest son wants to come and visit later this year when he is done taking his college classes. I am always happy to see my sons, happier that they still see their stefather now that they are all grown up and older. They live close enough to their father to visit him often and I hope that they do. But, I cannot help but ponder if the end is drawing nearer. All of my kids will have seen me, will I survive for a long time after that last visit or not? Like I said, morbid I know...

Speedy Delivery

If you have ever done any sort of handyman work or even some do it yourself home projects you know that there is nothing more frustrating than needing a certain part and your local hardware store has none and won't have any for a good amount of time. You want the parts now or at least quickly. Spring loaded devices for example look like they might be hard to come by at the local store. The man behind the counter would probably scratch his head thinking before telling you they could "special order" those things and have them in a few weeks or so. That will never do, you want them ASAP! You need them shipped quickly, the faster the better. Projects that sit around unfinished are not good, especially if you are doing them to make a living. Go to the website and see what they have that can be bought at a good price and delivered to you quickly so that whatever you are working on can be completed and you can start on the next project.

Looking Good

It has now been what looks like a success story with my breathing/coughing problems. I still have trouble breathing, still need the oxygen, that is never going to change. But I have minimalized the coughing fits so that is a very big plus. I take the muscle relaxer and the Mucinex DM pills in the evenings around 8 p.m. or so. I take the Tylenol PM much later so that I can fall asleep easier. I wake up less times during the night and when I do have to get up for a bathroom trip I am able to go and get back to bed without much coughing or trouble. I hardly disturb my lovely wife at all :) In the mornings when I am up and facing the day I do cough and have a runny nose at times but that is so much better than what it was before. I would describe the past week as seven days of mild flareups and for that I am very happy. I hope it continues like this :)

Self Medication

In the past I would not have advised anyone to do what I have been doing the past few months. I have been buying medicine online that require no prescription. Dangerous I know but it was something that had to be done and had to be done quickly so I did it. I did have some help though, a fellow COPD sufferer gave me a link to a website that was cheaper than the one I used initially which was nice. What I pad for one inhaler from a Canadian website I got three of from this one. So I have been using these inhalers for a while now and they are helpful with breathing troubles. Had to be thankful for that. That plus the information I got about them from online searches of medical drug companies was helpful also. Then a few weeks back my muscle spasms came back to haunt me. Feels like a mule kicking me in the back and I don't like it at all. So, back to where I bought the inhalers and, yes, there was muscle relaxers! They aren't as potent as the ones I took years ago but they do help me relax a bit so I wasn't complaining the first day or two. Then something else happened that makes me very happy I got them. Between the muscle relaxers and the inhalers I have now had four, count them, four, days of mild episodes of my COPD flare ups. Sure, I still cough up phlegm in the mornings and occasionally late at night but not nearly as awful as they were before. So, all in all things are fairly good, health wise and I am happy. I still would not advise people to do what I have done unless they are (a) desperate and (b) have done a lot of research about the drugs they want to buy.
