hi fwid,

i worked in a warehouse that laundered professional uniforms and shop towels. all of the clothing had bar codes on them. after being washed they were scanned on the line they were hung. and they were scanned going thru sorting. bar codes were coming out of my head but they kept track of the frocks,
shirts and pants.

If you have a lot of things to keep track of, these barcode scanners are definitely the way to go. You may have had bar codes coming out of your head, but just imagine if you had had to keep track of all these items without a scanner!

exactly. i wouldn't have wanted to do any more than what we did have to do. they system really was amazing. and they used a computer system that originally was from germany used to make weapons during the war. it was old but did the job. in fact there was a keystroke that turned all the info into german. hehe. i did it once or twice to get a reaction. ha ha. i did get one. then turned it back to english before someone pannicked.
