Big Agnes

Not talking trash about a very large woman here, I wouldn't do such things. What I am referring to is a very nice tent, the Big Agnes Scout as a matter of fact. This tent is a very light tent making it easy to carry as you go backpacking. Backpacker Magazine calls the Scout UL2 the "lightest 2-person shelter on the market that offers big-storm AND bug protection for less than $300!" Quite a big deal I should say. Anyone that has ever gone camping can tell you horror stories of tents that did not hold up during a storm or didn't keep bugs from eating them alive. Big Agnes can take care of both of those problems and still not burden you with a lot of weight to carry with you as you backpack trails and mountains or wherever else you may go backpacking. I used to go camping when I was a much younger man and I can tell you that the worst things about tents is that they are bulky and heavy and hard to manage. Not good fun at all. Here is what the website tells us about the Big Agnes Scout: Specifications of the Big Agnes Scout UL2 Backpacking Tent: Trail Weight: 1 lb 9 oz Packed Weight: 2 lb Footprint Weight: 5 oz Fast Fly Weight: n/a Packed Size: 6" x 12.5" Floor Area: 34 sq ft Vestibule Area: n/a Head Height: 43" Note: Trail weight refers to poles, fly and tent body. Packed weight includes poles, fly, tent body, stakes, guy lines, stuff sacks, instructions, and packaging. Fast Fly weight refers to the poles, tent fly and accessory Fast Fly footprint - not available for this tent Look at that, 2 pounds packed weight. Anyone of any size should have no problems carrying two pounds of such an important item for backpacking! Heck, I am weak but can carry two pounds. and this tent is roomy for a two person set up, important to most people. Nobody likes to be in a crowded place trying to get comfortable and go to sleep. Lovers maybe okay with cramped spaces but not most people out backpacking. If you are thinking of gearing up for the Summer and backpacking you owe it to yourself to check out this Big Agnes Scout and put it in your future plans.
