Slimming Down

I know I keep harping on it, but Summer IS coming, it's just around the corner, and now is the time to seriously do something about that belly that you've accumulated during the Winter. You know, all those festival foods that you just had to consume and now you're carrying around? You enjoyed all those treats and now it's time to enjoy getting rid of those treats.
But, you first must ask yourself some important questions. Here's a great seven step criteria to think about:
1. Weight Loss Power
2. Speed of Results
3. Appetite Suppression
4. Long Term Results
5. Customer Results
6. Safety
7. Overall Value (how many pounds you will lose for each dollar you spend)

Number seven is extremely important, unless you just have tons of money to throw away and you don't care. And, if you do have that kind of money, feel free to throw some my way!
You can get help with these important questions by checking out the slimming pills review. There you'll find all the information to assist you in deciding which pills are the best for you, your body and your pocketbook. Don't believe the hype you find on infomercials or ads or even those ghastly emails we all get. Check out the reviews for yourself and make the decision that's right for you!
Take a long look at yourself in the mirror, decide how much you need to slim down and then go for it. Look your best this Summer and take genuine pride in yourself for making a new, slimmer, you a reality.

Foul!

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities said a man accused of money laundering was tripped up because he could have used a little cleansing himself. Court records show that during his trips to a Eugene bank a man drew attention to himself because of a foul odor, possibly linked to fertilizer. A teller vomited. Customers complained. Authorities investigated.

After an Internal Revenue Service investigation into a drug operation involving high-potency marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms, a federal grand jury indicted the man.

He does not face drug charges, but he is accused of laundering cash in dozens of transactions totaling nearly $500,000 in 2007 and 2008.

Court records show he pleaded guilty in 1999 to manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.

Nostagia

While surfing through some Google images, I came across a section of old Life magazine photos dealing with baseball and its fans. I had to chuckle at most of them, they brought back memories of a much simpler time of life. But this one below I had to save and put here on my blog. It was a great year, when the underdog Pirates defeated the team that couldn't possibly lose, the dreaded New York Yankees. After all, they had Mantle! But, in the end, we had Maz!
Could 2009 be like 1960?

Feeling Dumb

A few days ago I went to get a "job" at a site called Cha Cha. I had to take a timed test and answer a whole slew of questions which were easily answered by doing a quick internet search. I thought I did pretty well, but I failed. I have no idea how that happened! I felt pretty darned dumb though :(
Another person told me about this site like Cha Cha called KGB, so I went and looked it over. The two sites are very similar, in that they both deal with answering questions that people have sent by way of their cell phones.
Did I sign up? Not yet. I have gone there several times, though. KGB has a test to take too, and I am reluctant to click the link. I'm afraid I might fail this test too and then I will really feel dumb. Let's face it, I am just being a chicken LOL
I hope all of you are having a great weekend and are feeling smart :)

Receipt Printers

A receipt printer plays an integral role in any POS (Point Of Sale) system, signaling the cash drawer to open when the transaction is completed. Two main types of POS printers, the impact receipt printer and the thermal receipt printer, are industry mainstays.

While an impact receipt printer uses more consumables (ink cartridges and receipt paper), it offers an affordable entry price compared to thermal receipt printers, may offer two-color printing, can print on 2-ply receipt paper, and withstands heat in restaurant kitchen environments. A thermal printer does not use ink -- it uses heat-sensitive receipt paper to create an image on the paper. Thermal receipt printers offer near-silent, speedy printing for fast-paced retail operations, or anywhere silence is appreciated.
Which receipt printer system is best for you depends on what sort of business you are in. For most at home businesses, an impact printer would be fine and it would be cost effective as well. The only use for a simple home business that the thermal printer might have is that it would be impressive to the customer getting the receipt.
If you have a high profile business, with a great cash flow then the thermal printer might be best for you. If you want things around you to be quieter or you simply need speed in your receipt printing, then thermal is definitely the way to go.
POSMicro stocks both types of POS printers at everyday low prices, including top manufacturers like Epson, Citizen, Star, Samsung, POS-X and Ithaca.
So, if a receipt printer is one of your business needs, then now is the time to click on the link above and find the POS printer that best suits your needs. You also can find a printer that may fit your future needs as well, and be prepared when that need arises.

Is This Our Year?

Okay, I know it's way too early. But, the Pirates swept the on fire Florida Marlins and are simply on a great roll already this year :)
The nicest part? Tuning in to ESPN and actually seeing highlights of the game. Not at the very last few seconds either. They are taking the Bucs seriously for a change :)
It's amazing! And, it's been a long, long time of waiting too LOL

Casey Is A Trip!

I apologize for any commercials. Don't blame me, blame NBC!

Another Great Game!

And the end of the Marlins streak, which made the game so much better for Pirates fans like me :)
By Jenifer Langosch / MLB.com
PITTSBURGH -- For all the talk there has been about this young, surging Marlins ballclub, the Pirates made their own statement on Monday, picking apart Florida in an 8-0 rout at PNC Park.

Oh, and they did it while recording the team's third shutout in four games.

The Marlins entered the series riding a seven-game winning streak and touting the Major Leagues' best record at 11-1. Their 3.24 ERA coming into Monday's contest was the fourth-best in the big leagues.

But whether it was just the law of averages that said the Marlins couldn't keep their hot streak up or because the Pirates pieced together arguably the best all-around game they've had this season, Pittsburgh looked like the team on the rise from start to finish in this one.

"There were a lot of good things tonight," Pirates manager John Russell said. "Things went really well for us. We knew coming in that to beat these guys we were going to have to play solid baseball and pitch."

The Pirates stole three bases off Marlins pitchers, taking advantage of the openings they were given. Pittsburgh benefited from three wild pitches, one of which directly led to a run scoring, and a balk. And of the six walks the Bucs drew, four eventually scored.

Backed by another strong defensive performance from third baseman Andy LaRoche, starter Ross Ohlendorf led the way. With seven scoreless innings, the right-hander earned his first win with the Pirates and second in the Majors, and he showed a notable rebound from a less-than-impressive previous start.

"Tonight was a very good building block for him," Russell said. "He's still in a little bit of a development stage. He's going to go through a few growing pains here and there. He's going to continue to make progress."

The fastball command he didn't have last Thursday, Ohlendorf established early. And with that, all of his offspeed pitches worked to his benefit. He referred to his slider as the best it's been since the start of Spring Training.

Ohlendorf also benefited from refocusing on his delivery with pitching coach Joe Kerrigan during his between-starts bullpen session. As they did through much of the spring, Ohlendorf worked on maintaining a straighter motion toward home plate, and he carried that successfully into the start.

"I was really happy with how it went, especially considering how well they've been playing," Ohlendorf said. "The big thing was that I was able to throw the ball where I wanted to. The last time I missed my spots too much."

After a single and an error allowed the first two Marlins hitters to reach in the first inning, Ohlendorf limited Florida to just one hit through the rest of his start. He faced the minimum in every inning after the first. The only other two baserunners he allowed were erased on a double play and a caught stealing.

"You have to give a lot of credit to that kid across the way," Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "I thought he was pretty good. We had him right off the get-go, then he got out of it, and I don't think we put a good swing on him the rest of the night."

After his 91-pitch outing, Ohlendorf gave way to Tyler Yates and Jesse Chavez, who preserved the shutout -- already the fourth for Pittsburgh this season. The Pirates had just seven all of last year.

With Ohlendorf dealing, the offense went to work. The Pirates knocked Marlins starter Andrew Miller out before the end of the fifth, taking advantage of his wildness. After the game, Miller was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique strain.

Nyjer Morgan walked, stole second and scored on Nate McLouth's RBI single in the first inning to give Pittsburgh the early lead. Adam LaRoche then doubled and scored on Miller's wild pitch in the fourth before he drove in McLouth and Craig Monroe with a two-out single in the fifth.

The Pirates then broke the game open with a four-run sixth inning that featured a three-run homer by McLouth. The homer, McLouth's fourth of the season, traveled an estimated 433 feet and was the 24th ball to land in the Allegheny River after it bounced off the concourse and into the cold water.

"It all goes back to our pitching and Ohlendorf doing what he did," said Adam LaRoche, who broke a three-game hitless streak with two hits. "He gave us the cushion to relax and get some hits and score some runs. That was a good start, especially against a team as hot as they are."

The Pirates have won the first game in all five series they have played this season. The win also pushed the Pirates' record back above .500 (7-6). The club was 7-6 after 13 games last season, though it fell below the .500 mark the following day and never ascended back above it.

The quiet confidence budding in the Pirates clubhouse right now, however, suggests that a similar occurrence won't be in order this season.

"What I like is that after [Sunday's] game, after that beating we took, you didn't see a bunch of heads hanging in here," LaRoche said, referring to Sunday's 11-1 loss. "We said, 'Let's come back out tomorrow and give someone a beating.' Guys know that we're going to have a shot the next day."

You have got to be kidding me!

We pause the salivating of this blog over the great season the Pittsburgh Pirates are having to bring you an incredibly dumb story of the Washington Nationals. I cannot believe the rationale behind the way this team thinks. Or, maybe they should start thinking LOL

Nationals bench Dukes after Little League-related tardy note

By 'Duk

Just when you thought your 1-9 Washington Nationals couldn't grow any more absurd comes some news that goes beyond the ridiculous and into the territory of the just plain laughable.

On Saturday, Washington outfielder Elijah Dukes was benched, fined $500 and threatened with a demotion to the minor leagues after he showed up to the park a mere five minutes after the team's usual reporting time.

OK, so rules are rules, but sometimes there are exceptions that should be made and Dukes' excuse would seem to qualify him for one — he was doing charity work for the Nats at a local Little League.

Here's Manny Acta's explanation for the punishment, via the WaPo's Nationals Journal:

"He was late for work, he broke a team rule, and we are going to change the culture here — regardless of how well a guy is playing," Acta said. "And it was a bizarre situation, because he was doing something that we encourage our players to do: He was out in the community doing something for some Little League program and just showed up late to work. He was very remorseful about it. He felt bad, but we have to lay the law on whoever."

Really, there are no words. Dukes has been one of the only Washington players to get off to a good start — he's hitting .323 with two homers and six RBI in nine games — and he's been trying to get his life back on track after not being a very good person in the past. While the team's other wunderkind Lastings Milledge has been testing the organization's patience, it has been Dukes and a few others who have displayed proof that the team might have hope for some sort of future.

But then Acta, who's likely to be the first manager canned this season, goes out and tries upsetting the cart over a tardy due to something positive on Dukes' record? Incredible.

Really, though, it should come as no surprise since it involves a Nationals franchise that has bumbled its way through the entire spring.

I mean, first there was the draft pick who falsified his age, which led to a bonus-skimming controversy that caused Jim Bowden to resign his position as general manager.

Then there were moments like the Nats' team president going on Philadelphia radio to invite Phillies fans down to Washington to fill the stadium, the introduction of weird ballpark statues that were not only historically incorrect, but panned by the Washington Post (though I like them) and — my favorite — Adam Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman taking the field on Friday night while wearing jerseys that read "NATINALS".

No wonder their potential top draft pick might want $50 million to join them.

(Or that the Post's beat writer previously sent up a few rescue flares.)

This story appeared on Yahoo Sports pages and I just had to share it. It's totally unbelievable, it's that dumb!

Two In A Row

Shutouts. Against the evil Atlanta Braves, the team that has destroyed Pirate fans playoff hopes in the past.
Yesterday it was 3 to 0, a very nice pitchers duel, even if the Braves pitchers did give up 3 runs.
Today was a different ballgame. 10 to 0! Craig Monroe hit two, count them, two homeruns for six of those runs. And he hit them a long, long way! A great game to listen to (unless you like the Braves LOL)
This brings the Bucs to a 6 and 5 record :) I know it's early, but it it's never to early to hope. Not just for a winning season, whcih the Pirates have not had in years, but maybe, just maybe, a chance at the playoffs.
LET'S GO BUCS!!!!!

Phenphedrine Review

I know I keep talking about this, but, Summer is coming! It can't get here fast enough for me, because, frankly, I am not a cold weather person. Being skinny has its drawbacks and Winter is one of them. Most people don't have that problem though, as they seem to have a built in heater, also known as fat.
If you are one of those folks with the built in heater and are seriously thinking of getting rid of some of it then this entry is for you :) As Summer approaches people begin to think about getting into better shape so they can go outside wearing less clothing and not embarrass themselves or their loved ones. Nothing wrong with that! Everyone should want to look their best.
But, the biggest problem facing folks is which diet plan or diet pil is the best for them? Looking at ads or hearing them on television and radio, they all claim to be the best, the fastest, the perfect solution. Where can you go to find honest opinions about these things?
Here is a site that you can go to find out about phenphedrine and get phenphedrine reviews. You'll also find out where you can get your own phenphedrine with a money back guarantee. You just can't beat a money back guarantee, no matter what product you're looking for :)
So, click on the link, read the information and get ready to get yourself leaner and into that shape you want! Look at the results of this young lady. This could be you!

Baseball Thoughts

Today was The Pittsburgh Pirates home opener, and, wow, what a game! Duke pitched the entire 9 innings and gave up nothing. Houston managed to get just four hits off of him, scoring zero while the Bucs managed 7 runs on 14 hits off of the Houston Astro pitchers.
The one bummer of the game was the Astro's pitcher,Brian Moehler, who had to leave the game in the third inning with a sprained knee.No matter what sport you are a fan of, I don't know of anyone that would wish to see a player get injured, even the opposing team. I only can hope that, with some rest, this young man will be back to the pitching mound for the Astro's soon.
My team is now 4 and 3, which is a pretty darned good start for them :) They seem to have a lot more moxie as a team this year, scoring late in the game when they can, not giving up to anyone. This is all one can expect from the team they root for, don't give up. As a great ball player once said, it ain't over 'til it's over!
LET'S GO BUCS!!!!

Getting In Shape

Now that Spring is here and warmer weather too, lots of folks are thinking about summertime and being at the beach or at least outdoors. Time to think about how you look without all those layers of Winter clothing. Time to get into shape!
Getting into shape for most means building up some muscles, new muscles. Your training is all about adding new lean muscle. And what "signals" the growth of that new muscle? Nitric oxide. So it stands to reason you want higher levels of nitric oxide maintained through extended periods of time. That's just what you get with NO2 Black. 950% higher levels than previously possible - sustained throughout the day! That's why thousands of bodybuilders are adding massive amounts of new muscle every day with NO2 Black. But just what is this NO2 Black?
NO2 Black is the first patented extended-release nitric oxide generator designed to deliver upper limit nitric oxide - all day long. It is enhanced by the patent-pending ACTINOS(2)- technology. ACTINOS(2)- was developed to increase NOS (nitric oxide synthase), the rate-limiting factor in the human body's ability to generate nitric oxide.
With more NOS, NO2 Black delivers upper limit nitric oxide for massive gains in lean mass, "in-gym" muscle recovery, and skin ripping pumps. NO2 Black is also enhanced with alpha lipoic acid to help you keep your muscle gains.
Just imagine yourself out on the beach or just kicking back in your yard and having people pass by admiring the new you with new muscles and looking great! With NO2 Black, you CAN have that body that you've always wanted! So, click on the link above and see just how simple it can be to get started on this new, improved, you.

The Rest Of The Story

Here's the rest of the Nick Adenhart story, with more details about the idiot that ran the red light.
Apr 10, 1:15 PM (ET)

By BETH HARRIS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -Jim Adenhart walked to the empty pitcher's mound in Angels Stadium where his son spent the last night of his life. He spent several quiet moments there, briefly covering his eyes with one hand.

The shock of Nick Adenhart's death early Thursday in a car wreck caused by a suspected drunk driver was beginning to sink in for family, teammates and fans of the Los Angeles Angels rookie. Adenhart's death came hours after his best showing yet in the major leagues.

Fans placed flowers, baseballs, posters and Rally Monkeys at a makeshift memorial on the pitcher's mound of the replica brick infield near the stadium gates.

"He was here pitching yesterday, six amazing innings, had a really good game," 17-year-old fan Rachel Watson said Thursday. "Today, he's gone."

The Angels planned to pay tribute to the 22-year-old pitcher before Friday night's opener of a three-game series against Boston in Anaheim. They will wear a patch or emblem on their jerseys the rest of the season to honor him.

The team postponed Thursday night's series finale against Oakland to mourn Adenhart, who was killed along with two other passengers in a car crash early Thursday in neighboring Fullerton.

The car they were riding in was broadsided in an intersection by a minivan that apparently ran a red light, police said.

Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, of Riverside, was driving on a suspended license because of a previous drunk driving conviction. Preliminary results indicated Gallo's blood-alcohol level was "substantially over the legal limit" of .08 percent, police Lt. Kevin Hamilton said.

Gallo was booked into jail on three counts of murder, three counts of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol. No bail was set.

Outside Angels Stadium, a pile of flowers and tributes grew steadily.

"No. 34, You are one more Angel in heaven," a poster read. Scribbled on a baseball was, "Now you play for another Angels team."

Inside the clubhouse, the team met privately Thursday to remember Adenhart, who made the major league opening day roster for the first time in his career after overcoming a devastating elbow injury and subsequent surgery in 2004.

"A lot of these guys in here have never lost anybody in their family that's close to them. I hate that this happened, but this is part of life. This is the real deal," outfielder Torii Hunter said. "That's why you've got to kiss your kids, kiss your family every day when you get up in the morning and before you leave for work."

Adenhart was killed hours after making his season debut with his father in the stands, throwing six scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics. The Angels ultimately lost the game, 6-4.

"It is a tragedy that will never be forgotten," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.

The rookie pitcher's father spoke to the team during its meeting Thursday.

"He just wanted to say thank you for the opportunity, thank you for raising his kid in minor league ball on up through the system in the Angels' organization," Hunter said.

Adenhart died in surgery following the accident. Henry Pearson of Manhattan Beach, a 25-year-old passenger in the car, and the driver, 20-year-old Courtney Stewart of Diamond Bar, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Stewart was a student at nearby Cal State Fullerton, where she was a former cheerleader.

Another passenger, 24-year-old Jon Wilhite of Manhattan Beach, remained in critical but stable condition Friday and doctors believe he will survive, said John Murray, a spokesman for UC Irvine Medical Center. He was being medically sedated, Murray said. Wilhite played baseball from 2004-08 at Cal State Fullerton.

Stewart's mother said Adenhart and the others had gone dancing at a club about a block away from the crash site.

At the ballpark Wednesday night, Adenhart made just his fourth major league start and left with a 4-0 lead, before the bullpen gave away what would have been his second big league win.

During Thursday's closed-door session, "we were just kind of reminiscing about what Nick brought to the team, to the clubhouse," Hunter said.

"He was a very funny kid and he's going to be missed," he said. "Every time you come to the stadium and you go in that clubhouse, you're looking at Nick Adenhart's locker."

Adenhart had made a slow climb to reach the majors.

He hurt his pitching elbow two weeks before the June 2004 major league draft, when he was projected as a top-five pick out of Williamsport High in Maryland.

The setback dropped him to the 14th round, where the Angels selected him anyway. He had Tommy John surgery - a reconstructive operation on an elbow ligament - later that month and spent most of next four seasons in the minors.

Adenhart had a 9.00 ERA in three starts for the Angels last season, but Scioscia said last month the right-hander had worked hard over the winter and arrived at spring training with a purpose.

He was made the No. 3 starter as the season began this week because of injuries to John Lackey, Ervin Santana and Kelvim Escobar, all of whom are on the disabled list.

So Young, So Tragic

Last night I watched this young man pitch six shutout innings against the Oakland A's. This morning, the young man is dead :(

Angels rookie right-hander Nick Adenhart died early Thursday morning after a hit-and-run car accident in Fullerton, Calif.

The Angels said that Adenhart, 22, died as a result of his injuries after undergoing surgery at University of California-Irvine Medical Center. No other members of the Angels organization were involved, the club said.

Thursday's scheduled game against the A's was postponed. No decisions about a makeup game had been made.

"The Angels family has suffered a tremendous loss today," Angels general manager Tony Reagins said in a statement issued by the club. "We are deeply saddened and shocked by this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nick's family, friends' loved ones and fans."

A man and a woman who were with Adenhart were killed and another person was seriously injured in the accident, which involved three vehicles. Authorities were blaming the accident on a motorist who ran a red light with his van and then fled the scene on foot. He was later found and taken into custody.

Adenhart was one of four occupants in a silver Mitsubishi. Fullerton Police reported the Mitsubishi proceeded through an intersection, when a van ran a red light and broadsided the vehicle. The Mitsubishi slammed into a light pole.

I feel for his parents, as well as the families of the people that died with him in this tragic accident. May they all rest in peace.

Spring Fever?

I've been lazy lately. I don't know what it is, but i am going to blame it on Spring Fever. I just don't seem to have the drive for updating this blog or working on discussions over on mylot
True, I was sick for a while there, but still, I just feel lazy. The fact that baseball season is here isn't helping any LOL
I love baseball. I love watching a great game on television, or listening to one on the radio. This year I shall spend lots of time listening to games I'm sure as I signed up to listen to my hometown team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, online. Between the Pirates and the Angels I'm sure to get enough baseball to satisfy my baseball fever :)
Hopefully, Spring Fever with all it's laziness will go away soon and i can get back to my normal routine. :)

Makng Money

In these tough economic times, many folks are scrambling around looking for ways to make money. Some need it as they have lost their job, some just are looking for extra income to make life a little simpler. Whichever one is you, you should consider buying things wholesale.
With online auction houses like Ebay and Lutlot, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for. Buy stuff wholesale and then sell it for at or close to retail. Or, you can sell it on your own website and skip the auction houses and any fees they may charge you. The idea is to make money for yourself, not you and a middleman.
What kind of goods can you buy at this wholesale house? How about some shoes?

Or, maybe electronics is more to your liking:

There's lots more at the site, which you can see by clicking the link above. They have clothing and jewelry as well as computer gear, general merchandise and tools and machinery. No matter what your interest, they are bound to have something to make you happy.
Go, check out Liquidation dot com by clicking the link in the first paragraph. Buy something to sell, something just for yourself, or both! But, do it quickly, before someone else grabs the bargain and makes money.
Oh, and when you've made lots of money, don't forget who gave you the push in the right direction :)

Times Have Changed

When I was in high school, drugs were everywhere. It was the hippie era after all. The school I went to kept an eye on us to make sure we weren't smoking weed or popping pills or anything else like that.
Tonight, my teenager who is a Senior and should graduate soon tells me this. On Grad Night the students are supposed to show up at five o'clock because the school wants to have the students give a urine sample so they can check for drugs. I'm hopeful that this was someones idea of an April Fool's Day joke.
I know kids do drugs, but a urine sample on Grad Night seems a bit strange to me.
