Bound To Happen
Last night one of the players got a brilliant idea. Brilliant for him but a nightmare for the Mods and a headache for us Administrators.
He decided, in his moment of brilliance, that one of the Mods needs a new computer. She has had a lot of computer troubles through the years that she has been there and the player thought it a great idea for others to help her get a new computer by donating part of their game winnings to her. Sounds good at first glance, right?
The Mod in question did not think his idea was a good one and she repeatedly asked him to stop putting forth his grand idea in the lobby. He wouldn't let go, like a puppy with a chew toy he persisted. He kept at it until another Mod came in and told him to drop it. He still wouldn't let go so he was chat banned. Now he is an unhappy player.
The problem here lies with the past. Many players have managed to scam others out of their money based on falsehoods and there is no way to tell if the players would now think that they are being scammed by a Mod and her friend. Not good at all.
The other problem is that it is against the rules to beg, directly or indirectly, for site money. If this player is allowed to "beg" for help getting the Mod a new computer then what is to stop other players who are broke from having their friends ask for some help for them. That's not good either.
Ugh. What a headache!
