Welding Helmets
Let's face it, things break. Maybe more often than they used to but they break. While most of us live in a disposable world where, if something breaks we throw it away and buy a new one, some things can be repaired and should be fixed even if fixing it means welding the pieces back together or welding a new piece to replace one that broke.
Welding is not a simple process and may not be right for every handyman type of person. But, if you are the handyman type and wish to give it a try, you should.
The most important piece of equipment is, obviously, a welding torch. But the most important safety item you will require is a welding helmet. They may seem unnecessary but which would you prefer, a few dollars spent on a safety helmet or thousands of dollars replacing your eyesight. If your eyes survive the sparks.
Not just your eyes either, those sparks are hazardous to your skin and when you are welding you need to sometime have your eyes close to the job. Sparks on your skin are not going to be pretty or painless.
No matter what job you do as a handyman you must always be thinking safety first and foremost. That's why welders all wear helmets when welding along with the leather aprons and other protective gear.
If you have a welding job to do, Baker's Gas and Welding Supplies has what you are looking for so give their website a browse and get what you need to do the proper job.
Don't just throw broken things away if they can be repaired, fix them!
