Bad Timing

Some people have no sense. One of the regular players had just been in the lobby letting us know that his father-in-law had passed away. We all knew it was coming, didn't think it would be this quick but maybe for the best.
Another player comes into the chat to ask What do you call a dead blonde under the porch? How's that for bad timing? Or, maybe just plain rudeness?
Oh, the answer? Last year's HIDE & SEEK winner

Of course this player was booted and his chat taken away. What an idiot. GRRRRR

Insure Yourself

People these days are living longer and longer thanks to medical advances. However even with this longevity people need to insure themselves. One never knows what the day will bring both good and bad or even catastrophic. If something bad were to happen to you, how would your family cope financially? With term life insurance available through http://www.wholesaleinsurance.net those financial burdens can be lessened, leaving the family to deal with just the loss.
No one wants to leave their family in a financial bind. People these days seem to think that they will live forever. Or, they like the idea of insurance but they put it off until another time. That's not a wise idea, people should be prepared for the absolute worst. That is a terrible thought, I know, but often the truth does appear to us as a terrible thought.
If you have been putting off getting insurance, now is a great time to look at what is available and the costs of it. With a variety of companies to choose from wholesaleinsurance makes it easier for you to choose the right company, right plan, right price.
Check out their tools page and avail yourself of the insurance calculator. Get an idea of how much insurance you really need and go from there. Still not sure of what to get? Talk to an advisor by telephone at 1-800-823-4852. Don't like telephones? Use the live advisor. If they are not live, you can still leave a question and they will get back to you ASAP.
Don't leave your family in a bind, prepare now and rest easy.

Another Heartbreaker

First a 19 inning game that ends in what appears to be a missed call by the home plate umpire.
Today another extra inning game with the Braves that did not go in the Pirates favor. The players must be very frustrated at this point. One can only hope they let it go tomorrow.
One thing I have always like about the Angels manager is that he tells the players to take things one game at a time, not to think back on what could have been but focus on today, right now. I hope that Mr. Hurdle is of the same mind and tells the Buc players exactly that.
Move onward...keep chasing that division title...

Homes For You

Post deleted by request :)

Nineteen

It was a very, very long game. Nineteen innings of well played baseball on the part of both teams. Unfortunately the Braves beat the Pirates.
Even though they lost this game, it does show the fans and, hopefully, the front office that this Pirate team is working and working well.
They didn't give up, fighting the Braves over and over with great pitching and defense. This is the mentality you want a winning baseball team to have. Go out, play as hard as you can and hope you come out ahead!
After all those hours of baseball I sure am glad to know that tomorrow's game (today actually now) is not a day game. Both these teams need some rest!

Buyers

For the first time in more years than I care to think about, the Pittsburgh Pirates hit the trading season differently.
It has been way too many years of "who can we trade?" and watching some of the best players go to other teams so that other teams may win their divisions.
This year the Pirates are not looking to sell, they are looking to buy! They sit, halfway through the season, tied for first place. They are facing tough teams like the Cardinals and the Braves and are holding their own.
Is this the year of the Buccos?

I believe...
I believe...

I BELIEVE!!!

Way Too Hot

We are one third of the way through Summer and the sidewalk is hot enough that one could fry eggs on it, although I never have seen anyone do that. As if the heat from the weather isn't enough, I came out of my cool bedroom this morning and entered into the kitchen, also known as the gates of Hades. Must have been another twenty degrees hotter in that kitchen than it was outside, my lovely wife was cooking spaghetti and adding fuel to the fire.
I will be the first to admit that I am as skinny as a stick. Even though I am that thin I am sweating in this heat like there is no tomorrow. I cannot imagine how much tougher it must be for those with some extra baggage to carry around.
If you are one of these people with a few extra pounds to get rid of, don't wait for the pounds to be sweat off, do something about it. Surely you will enjoy a lighter, slimmer, less sweatier you. But, what are the safest diet pills that work?
Well, my friends, you could spend countless hours being bored to death on the internet doing some heavy duty research of your own or you could be smart and save all that time by visiting the site that has done the research for you.
Once you have determined which diet pills are the ones for you, I urge you to take that information and discuss it with your doctor. The doctor will know if those pills will do anything detrimental to your personal medical situations. Better safe than sorry!
Shed those unwanted pounds and then get yourself outside in your favorite bathing suit or shorts and tee shirt and enjoy the lovely warmth of Summer.

Hot

It is incredibly hot here in the desert, normal for the summertime. I don't object to the heat so much as I do the awful cooling off in the evenings.
It used to be, many, many years ago, that the desert would be blazing hot during the day and then after the sun went down would just be hot. We could have 115 during the day and be thankful when, at midnight, it was in the 80's.
Now that the place has grown and buildings and houses have replaced so much of the actual desert, it cools off in the evenings to the point where it actually feels cold. Ugh. My body does not like such drastic temperature changes.

One very nice thing to note about hot tho... my team, the Pittsburgh Pirates are in first place in their division! Whoo-hoo!!! Now all they gotta do is keep staying hot, win the games they need to win and stay in contention.
The other thing the team really needs to do is survive this month. It is July, trading time for baseball and the silly people in the Pirates front office often make trades that they claim are good for the team and usually are not. I am hopeful that, being in first place will convince the front office folks to stay out of the trading market this year. For once in their miserable baseball lives they need to give the kids a chance to prove themselves. The team has come together, the team is winning, the team needs to stay exactly as it is!

Tee Shirt Weather

It's Summertime and the living is easy. That was how Gershwin saw Summer and I have to agree. It's way too hot to be doing anything hard unless absolutely necessary so you may as well be comfortable. According to one ad that I frequently see on a social networking site, it's also a time to be sexy in your tee shirt.
Not only can you be relaxed and comfortable running around in your tee shirt you also can show the world how you feel or think with your very own personalized t shirts online at Personal Creations.
Whether you are looking for tee shirts just for yourself or for the entire family, there are a lot of shirts here to choose from. You can choose to be a little conceited with:

or you can just have some fun like this one:

or choose some of the M&M tee shirts, those are really cute as well. No matter your age or gender there is bound to be a tee shirt that will put a smile on your face both when you buy it and every time you wear it.
One important thing to note here, from what I read in comments on the website the tee shirts tend to run a little small. So, if you have any doubts you are best off ordering a size larger than normal.
While you're browsing the site be sure to also check out the other gift items available, from Anniversaries to Weddings. Always nice to have gift ideas in your head, you never know when you'll need to buy a gift!

All Star Game

I did not get to watch the All Star Game this year because I have no cable. But, thanks to ESPN Radio online I was able to listen.
It was a very good game, I thought. Maybe more than good since the National League won! My favorite team is in the NL so I have always rooted for them.
I was a little disappointed in Andrew McCutchen's at bat. A power hitter like him and he hits it back to the pitcher? Poor man. I'm sure it was simply nervousness, first time as an All-Star and all. But, I am also certain it will not be his last All Star game.
My team has done very well this year, finishing the first half of the season only one game out of first place and with a winning record. Whoo-hoo! Could this be the season the Bic's finally put it all together and make the playoffs? Fans are hoping. The nicest thing I have seen about this season is not only the players that are getting it done, but also the fans.
Living in California about the only time I get to see anything about Pittsburgh is when they play the Dodgers. So normally I am looking at video clips online and I see the stands are fairly empty which saddens me. This year however when I look at clips I see the stands are very full of fans and this makes me joyful.
Love them or hate them your team needs to be supported. More so for the Pirates I think because they are what MLB considers a small market. Too bad Pittsburgh citizens do not support baseball the same way they support football and hockey.
Maybe this is the Pirate's year! I am praying the front office folks do not start trading players away like every other year. How the heck you gonna win a playoff berth that way? Pay attention Pirates owners. Your stands are filling up again. Don't screw it up by trading away pieces of a team that may have finally solved your puzzle!

Power Is Important

Probably the most frustrating thing about using a computer is the famous blue screen of death that appears from time to time in Windows. Nothing can be done about that blue screen other than grumble and reboot the computer. But perhaps more frustrating though is a power surge that either shuts things down or, even worse, fries the computer.
A number of the Mods on my game site live in the eastern part of the United States and they have had some seriously foul weather, either heavy rains or tornadoes. The one thing they all say on Skype is that they hope their power doesn't go out. I don't blame them although I have to wonder why they have not checked out the latest in power supplies.
Every computer, whether used for fun and games or serious things like work should have some sort of power protection. Surge protectors are not that expensive. Certainly they are a whole lot cheaper than buying a brand new computer! Many surge protectors are fairly simple affairs, just plug the computer into it and plug the surge protector into the wall socket. Anything surges, the computer will lose it's power without any damage.
If you use your computer for work then you might seriously wish to consider buying a battery back-up system. This will give you ample time, if there is a power surge or other annoyance, to save your work and shut the computer down safely. Peace of mind there.
Don't take chances with freaky weather or your power company, get yourself some power protection and enjoy that computer for a long time to come.

A Break For Me

I got my Medi_Cal card finally so I contacted the person at the hospital that helped me with the initial application process. I asked her how do I now use the card to pay those hospital bills, roughly forty thousand dollars worth.
Got an email this morning telling me that the hospital has already billed Medi-Cal for those two visits. That means I don't have to go to the hospital and deal with their payment folks. A break for me.
She also told me how I can use the card to pay the ambulance bills. All I have to do is send them a copy of my card and they will bill Medi-Cal directly from there. This is good because I have no clue where the ambulance company is located lol
So, breaks for me and a great day as well!

Lowe's Savings

Yesterday morning one of the Mods on my game site had to leave in a rush to go help a neighbor. Seems the 73 year old neighbor had his water heater break and there was water everywhere. The water heater had only been installed for about five months, bought from Lowe's. It appeared that the water heater came undone at a welded seam, which is why there was so much water. A quick phone call to Lowe's and all concerned were assured that Lowe's would not only replace it immediately, they would also assist in cleaning up the mess. Very nice business practice for Lowe's and I salute them.
Lowe's is a very popular home improvement store, I know because every time I have been there there is always a lot of customers. Their prices are already good, but did you know that you can save even more money there by using lowe’s coupons?
From accessories to windows, Lowe's has the home improvement items that every house might need. Even if you are not improving but say, replacing a water heater, Lowe's has the goods.
Check out the coupons on the website and see if there is something you may need then take advantage of the coupon and buy it now at an even better price. There is nothing better than saving money by using Lowe's coupons short of free. You know I love free. But, I also love saving money, period. This is why these Lowe's coupons are so nice to have.

Great Joke

Last night in the lobby I was having a bit of fun with one of the players and another Mod. The Mod had used a bunch of capital letters in a sentence, a rule violation. I was teasing the Mod about having to take away his chat for that like we do the players.
One of the players was telling me things like kick him hard! and make sure to leave a red mark with that boot.
The other Mod had to go to work so we decided to have some fun with the player. The Mod didn't say good-bye in the lobby and, after awhile, another Mod came into the lobby to ask me what happened to Bubba. I told her I gave Bubba three hours of silence for using those caps. The player was horrified! Kept telling me over an over that he was just kidding, he didn't really want me to boot Bubba. It was hilarious!
Off and on for the next seven or eight hours the player would mention that I booted a fellow Mod. A lot of the players now must really think I am a tyrant. If I will boot a moderator what chance do they have to misbehave? LOL
I guess I will have to send the player a mail telling him he just had his leg pulled, it was all a joke.

ATV Wheels

Yesterday's post was all about fun at the beach and wearing the appropriate clothing. What if you don't live close to or have access to a beach? Does that mean you should stay home and mope? Not a all!
No matter where you live there must be somewhere close by where you can get out and ride around on an ATV. Enjoy the sunshine, the riding with friends and having fun! Before all that though, be sure to check your ATV Wheels to make sure they, and the rest of the vehicle, are in good shape. Accidents happen but you don't have to help them happen.
Super ATV has parts for all sorts of ATVs from Arctic Cat to Polaris to Yamaha. Whatever ATV you have they are sure to have the parts you need for your ATV to keep it running at it's best.
Riding an ATV can be lots of fun but always remember that you must think safety first. Make sure you have the proper equipment to ride and follow all the safety laws from your area. In fact, make sure you obey all the laws for ATVs where you live, don't just assume you can go wherever you wish.
Load up your ATV, head out to a great recreational spot and have fun!

Great News

Great news for me. After seven months of red tape and other government baloney I finally got approved for Medi-Cal from the state of California.
This means that soon I will be free of the hospital debts from the two visits I made during the Winter. It is a load off my mind!
I have to wait a few more days tho, as they send the plastic Medi-Cal card seperately. Once I have that in my hands I am good to go. I am very excited!
I'm happy not just because of the hospital debts, but because I really do need some insurance. I can barely move around without tiring myself and getting out of breath. Ugh! I am hoping that I will be able to see a doctor and get some sort of breathing treatments for this COPD I have. Or some sort of mobility device to help my bad back. I am afraid to leave the house for anything other than a short walk to the curb and back.
Also an eye exam would be nice. I have not had my eyes examined in ten years or more. Sometimes sitting here at this monitor for too long gives me the most awful headaches and dizzy spells. Not good.
So, today I am a very happy camper :)

Surf's Up, Dude

Today is hot and humid here in the desert. It rained a little yesterday and today we all pay the price for that small cooling off from the heat. I'm not one of those that deals with with humidity, hence why I live in the desert. But for some reason when I am at the beach I feel just fine. Maybe it's the saltwater air that makes it all okay. Or, maybe it's the hot chicks in their swimwear.
One thing is for certain as far as the beach goes, you must, absolutely must, wear the right clothing. You don't want people pointing at you behind your back and giggling. That stinks!
You need something that says you belong at that beach and you fit in with the beach crowd. Some shorts like these perhaps:

Something that is genuine surf clothing. Shorts like those, a tank top if you need a shirt, a cap to keep the sun out of your face (and help you look at the girls) and you fit right in and no one will be giggling.
Remember though, bring your sunscreen. You are not going to look good in those shorts if you are sunburned!

Justice

Three years and one verdict later the Casey Anthony saga ends. Many are grumbling on their social networks, complaining that the jury said not guilty. This is their right, to grumble.
It is why the American justice system is such a great thing. A person gets their day in court, judged by a jury of their peers. One cannot ask for anything better than this.
This trial was doomed from the beginning. The news media had Ms Anthony tried, convicted and killed before the trial had even begun. The law enforcement people did their darndest to continue to feed the media anything and everything, right or wrong.
The defense team did a wonderful job of defending their client, tossing reasonable doubts into the minds of the jury. If you were on trial that is exactly what you would want your defense team to do as well.
I feel badly for the little girl that died. I feel badly for the family that was left behind. I wish the Anthony's the best of luck trying to move onward in life.
