No Soap?

My daughter has been watching these two programs lately, Dirty Little Liars and Nashville.She gets angry when I make fun of her shows by calling them soaps. She tells me "It's a drama! Not a soap!" It's a soap, they both are soaps lol She just doesn't get it. Seems to be the trend these days, make dramas that are sneakily soap operas. I watch the show Arrow because I saw the first one and liked what I saw. I did realize from the first episode though that the show, while certainly dramatic, is a soap opera. Characters go through things in more than one or two episodes because it is a soap. Not a problem to me, I accept that they are soaps.
