SAGINAW, Mich. (UPI) -- A $110 million fortune is being split by the family of a Michigan lumber baron who demanded his money not be distributed until after his grandchildren died.
Chief Probate Judge Patrick McGraw in Saginaw, Mich., ordered the money to be distributed Monday to 12 descendants of Wellington R. Burt, who died in 1919 and left instructions for his money to be held until 21 years after the death of his last grandchild, NBC "Today" reported Friday.
The final grandchild died in 1989 and 30 people claiming to be relatives began trying to retrieve the money in 2010, but genealogical research reduced the number of beneficiaries to 12.
NBC said the heirs range in age from 19 to 94 and are spread across eight states.
Historian Thomas Mudd described the will to NBC News as "one of the most bizarre, if not the most bizarre, ways of distributing money after death that I have ever run into."

Old And Wrinkly
It's rough to get old. Even though the sun is out and Spring is here, it's still rather cool here and my osteoporosis and arthritis is letting me know just how sad it is to be older and almost crippled. When I look in the mirror I see a frail, wrinkled version of the young man that used to look back at me. The pains of being old are dealt with, one has no choice but to deal with the aches and pains. But the wrinkles? Those can be fixed.
Looking much younger than your actual age is the in thing these days. No one wants to be looked at as old, especially women. Looking younger has always been important for women, even when I was a kid and Clairol asked "Does she or doesn't she? Only her hairdresser knows for sure!" Those days women dyed their hair to get rid of gray so they would appear younger. These days hair color is not enough. But, where can one find the best anti aging products?
You could scour the internet, certainly faster than when I was young and there was no internet. But still, that is a lot of research to do and will be time consuming.
On the other hand you could take advantage of someone else already having done the research for you. Faster, and a whole lot smarter.

Gone Too Far
I am certain that most readers can remember when their parents wanted them out of bed and yelled at them to do just that, get out of bed. I guess those days are gone. The other day we all slept in as it was the weekend and no one had anything they really needed to do. I got up and went to the bathroom then decided I still wanted another hour or so of sleep so I crawled back into bed. My wife asked if I was going back to sleep and I said "yes". A few minutes later, just starting to doze back off I heard my wife's voice saying to our daughter that she needed to get up now. There was no parental screaming, she was calling her on her cellphone! This seems sad to me, I mean, the girl is in the other room of a very small house. She has to be called on her cellphone instead of being yelled at? Oh, brother!
Now this morning my daughter comes out to the kitchen and sits down at the other computer to do whatever it is she does online. Amazingly, she also has the Ipod on and is doing something online there too. Multi-tasking? yeah, right. Here is a picture:

As you can see, she is listening to music on the computer while watching a video on the Ipod. Me thinks people have gone too far with computerized things!

No Fun Allowed
Yesterday afternoon some of the players were in the lobby joking around and hinting that they were going to misbehave a little. One of the players said she would be willing to take one for the team and I assumed she meant getting booted from the chat box. So, as a practical joke I gave her a soft boot.
She came right back into the lobby, a little curious as to what had just happened and I explained it to her. It was a joke, and she laughed and told me she "owes me one". She thought it was funny as did all the regulars in the chat lobby. No harm, no foul :)
Then last night I went to visit a forum that has been bashing both the Mods and the site for quite some time. I go there almost every day to see what strange lies they are going to tell now LOL
Imagine my surprise to find the entire lobby chat posted there where I booted the player and we were all joking about it! The topic headline was "Mods need to learn the rules".
Yeah, okay, it is only fun when the players want to have fun and break the rules, seeing just how far they can go before they are booted. When a Mod tries to have a little fun with a player pal then that's taboo? I don't think so!
I am anxious to see how these people react when the new chat guidelines come out. Word I hear is that there will be no warnings as has been in the past. you mess up and good-bye! No warnings, just boots. Sounds good to me.
In the meantime, as a Mod, I will try to remember that I am not allowed to have any fun in the chat area. Don't hold your breath people! LMAO

Lost Another One
My daughter is on her way to Walgreens Drug Store. She is hoping that she left her purse there at some point in time. She seems to lose things a lot and her purses are no exception.
Thankfully her ID is not in that purse. Unfortunately some old pictures of her mother and her bio-dad and her are in there.
Why she continues to carry things that are irreplaceable are beyond me. I hope that Walgreen's has the purse though!

Acne Treatment
One thing I have never seriously had to worry about even as a teenager is acne. I always used to joke that it was because of all the greasy cheeseburgers I ate as a teen, the pimples just kept sliding off my skin. Last night in the chat lobby a player came in causing minor mischief so I asked them to behave. I also told them to go read the lobby chat rules so that they could learn to behave. Their response was to ask me if all of the moderators are as strict as I am. This made me chuckle as I am one of the most lenient mods the site has.
He really wanted to argue everything I said so I gave him a soft boot, meaning he is kicked off the site but can log back in and chat right away. Often this soft boot gets the point across to the players that the mods are serious when they say to behave. Not this guy!
He came back in and wanted to disrupt the lobby some more by arguing everything and with anyone that spoke to him. So my partner booted him again, this time for 3 hours! I also turned his name in to Support to see if he was a multi account, meaning he has more than one account with the same ISP address. This is a normal procedure for people that get to rambunctious in the chat areas.
A short while later another player came into the lobby that none of us had seen before inquiring what was up with the player that had been booted. So, after a bit of banter and some talking amongst the mods on Skype, we booted this one too and I added his name to the previous Support ticket.
No big surprise, this morning I got email from the Support person that, yes, indeed, both accounts have been closed as they are the same person.
I love it when the idiots make my job easier.

I Need Help
I find that every day that passes I seem to get weaker and weaker. Where once an active strong body stood now stands (barely) a weak and fragile one. The simplest of things make me winded and I have to stop and rest. This affects everything I do, from getting a cup of coffee from the kitchen to looking for things I want or need.
The other day I had to find something that was in a cupboard on a higher shelf. Standing on a chair is how I got it but I was so out of breath just from the exertion of climbing onto the chair that I almost said the heck with it. What I really need for these occasions is a medical step stool.

I like the fact that it not only is a step stool but also has a handrail, just in case I feel like I am falling, I can grab onto it for stability. Standing on chairs is not the safest way to go nor is it the most stable. Chairs wobble if you move too much and I can pretty much guarantee that if I fell I would beak a bone or two. I really need a step stool!
If you are like me and getting more fragile or you have a loved one that is, you owe it to yourself to look into the many step stools this website has to offer.

Since the boss had a couple of outbursts of anger in the chat lobby things have calmed down considerably, which is nice.

We are posting that new rules are coming soon and most of our players are saying it is about time. Lots of them are curious to find out what is going to happen and that's a good sign. I would hate it if none of them cared.
The confusing part of it all lies with the chat moderators. What the boss said is interpreted one way by the players that wish to abuse their chat and another way entirely by the mods. Mods too are rather anxious to see what the new rules will be, more so than the players, as we are the ones that will now have to enforce these new rules.

Gifts For The Coach
Many people play sports, from Little League kids up to adults that play for fun (although many take it way too seriously). Not only is it good exercise, it (should) can be fun as well.
Normally people think about buying gifts for the team, especially if the team is made up of kids, like Little Leaguers. This helps with the team's morale and camaraderie and is always nice. I'm sure a nice gift for the adult players would be nice as well, but if there is none I doubt any of them would complain that much.
But, what if you are on a team and you really want to make a great statement about that team and how much fun it was? How about getting coach gifts? They work just as hard as the players, sometimes they seem to work harder. And, a gift to say "thanks for a great job" would always be appreciated by any coach. And, if you really want to go all out, you can always buy your coach an engraved, personalized gift that they will treasure forever.
So, if you play sports, or your children play sports, you really should take a gander at what the website has to offer in the way of gifts. As I said, gifts are always appreciated by the person receiving them, especially the coach.

Some of the players on our game site are, well, less than adult-like. That is putting it mildly though politely. They come in solely to see how much trouble they can cause before they get their chat removed. It's more of a game to them than the games that we offer them to play.
Things have really heated up the past few days, with the old crew coming back in force, almost like they wish to take the Mod jobs back and run the site the way it used to run. This would mean that, if you were part of their clique then anything goes. If you were not part of their clique then you were not welcome in the lobby at all. I assume this is part of the reason the site owner got rid of them all to begin with, now they think they may take it back?
So, the current Mod boss has been fuming lately. She blew her top several times in the lobby, as did her better half. They have pretty much let it be known that they are not planning on giving up without a nasty fight!
Yesterday she came into the lobby and let it be known that within the next few days new lobby chat rules will be in place and where the players can go to read them once they are posted. I am not sure but I have the feeling that the major change will be "no warning". Step out of line and the Mods will not say don't do that, they will just boot you. If you have a business, online or off, you have paperwork. On the site where I am a chat moderator for players we have paperwork. Lots and lots of paperwork! I have been one of the two "bosses" the past few weeks and every day I have twelve hours of chat to read. All this paperwork is stored on my computer. And, as the days go by, it's getting harder and harder to keep track of it all. I truly need some sort of document management.

Welcome Back
Blogger dot com was down for maintenance all darned day yesterday and all night too apparently. Grrr. Makes it hard ti write a blog that way.

Let's Go Strolling
While my daughter is in the Los Angeles area she will get to visit one of her old friends from her old neighborhood who now has a baby. This will delight my daughter I'm sure because, like most young ladies her age, she seems enamored with babies and baby things. Not sure why this is, although I am guessing it has something to do with dolls and these young ladies are never thinking about the bad parts of having babies like lack of sleep or dirty diapers.
While she is visiting her friend hopefully the weather will cooperate and they can take the baby out for a stroll. Hopefully too the young mother will have a nice stroller like the baby jogger city select. Check out this fancy stroller:

Peaceful Here
My lovely child has been gone for a few days now visiting her biological father and his other family down in Los Angeles and it has been incredibly quiet and peaceful around the house since she left.
Not to mean that she makes a lot of noise when she is here, just I have noticed her absence. She only makes noise when she is watching something and decides to sing along or, yuck, when she decides to argue with her mother and it always seems to turn into a screaming match.
I miss the little brat.
Not to mean that she makes a lot of noise when she is here, just I have noticed her absence. She only makes noise when she is watching something and decides to sing along or, yuck, when she decides to argue with her mother and it always seems to turn into a screaming match.
I miss the little brat.

Flowers For D.C.
No matter which political party you belong to,one thing that most everyone will agree upon is that flowers make a great gift for a special someone.
Washington flower delivery has a very wide selection of flowers that are sure to delight anyone. And, of course, Mother's Day is fast approaching and we all know that Moms love flowers! What Mom, or any other special person wouldn't love to receive hugs and kisses this way:

Site Crash!
My game site has crashed, big time. Roughly five hours ago, in the middle of a game I got kicked out. Tried to get back in and nothing. Talking on Skype with some other mods, same problem.
Called the person that I know can reboot the site, she says she will see what she can do. About half an hour later I call her back and she tells me it will not work for her. She is trying to get hold of the site owner. I wish her good luck as I believe he lives in England and it is midnight his time, he is probably asleep.
Since that time the site refuses to let anyone in. Ugh! There are going to be some very angry players in the chat lobby once the site is finally back up and running.

Outdoor Fireplace
Since it appears that I may be spending a lot of time outside smoking on my small patio, and the warmer weather is here making it nicer to be outside, I am looking at something to make my patio more enjoyable for my wife as well. One of the things I am looking at is outdoor fireplaces. Like this small one (I have a small patio):
This one runs on a small one gallon propane tank so that's fairly affordable as far as the fuel goes. The fireplace itself is on sale right now so it is affordable as well. And, if it gets cool outside, like in the evenings once the sun has set, we can get warm from the fireplace. it's a win-win situation for me, especially since cool weather and my arthritic joints do not get along well at all.

Running Out Of Time
Mother's Day is next Sunday, already! I still haven't bought any gifts for my wife, mainly because I haven't left the house to go anywhere except for my trip the other day that was such a disaster.
Guess I best figure out something and I best figure it out quickly as today is Thursday!
I surely do not wish to wake up on Sunday morning and be in hot water. Heck, I hate to wake up any day and be in hot water with my lovely wife.

Green Smoke
Since I have been ordered by my city's inspector to stop smoking inside the house I have wondered how to get around such an order without getting myself into trouble. I mean, at the moment it is 90 degrees and sunny outside, nice day for being out so smoking outside isn't a problem. But, what about when the weather is cold, or rainy? So, I have begun to look more closely at these things called e cigs.
This one says that they are just like a normal cigarette but without the ashes or the smell of cigarette smoke. Also there is no need to light them, they run on rechargeable batteries. I can sit here at my computer getting some cigarette satisfaction and never worry about who comes to my door. Check out the video:

As you can see in the video, none of the smokers seem to be suffering any lack of smoking enjoyment. In fact they seem to be having a wonderful smoke! If you, like me, are tired of being hassled about smoking no matter where you go (or even in your own home) then you need to check out these e-cigs for yourself.

House Inspection
The landlady and a man from the city came by this morning to inspect the property and the house. I knew that were coming and we all tried to do our best to make the place look presentable. Hard to do sometimes when we are somewhat on the casual side as far as housekeeping goes.
Mostly the man wanted to make sure the house was safe, was there easy access to get out in case of an emergency, did we have smoke detectors, stuff like that. I have no smoke detectors so he told the landlady she will have to get and install them, two of them. Good, as this is money I will not have to spend.
He did do one thing that rather irked me as it really is not a safety issue not any of his business. He told me (not asked) to stop smoking inside my house! I am not sure my city has the right to do that, but I agreed, if nothing else to humor the man.
He told me he will be back within the next thirty days to make a surprise inspection. I am sure that is to make sure that the house owners do put in the smoke detectors.
I hate surprise visits from people like this but I will survive, I'm positive of that. The one thing I do realize is, when he does make that visit, I better be outside smoking my cigarette!

Conspiracy?
Seems to me like every time a famous or infamous person dies, no matter how they died, conspiracy fanatics come out of the woodwork. Osama Bin Laden is no exception.
Got up this morning and my wife was watching a video somewhere and the man was explaining that he believes Bin Laden has been dead for years, all those videos were a hoax, etc. As is often the case with these theories, what he said makes sense. I'm sure others will come out and dispute all that he said and put forth their own theories instead.
Frankly, I do not care when or how the man died. His death neither makes me happy nor sad, he is dead and many people are rejoicing. That is up to them. For me it is simply a matter of not being his judge. It is not my duty to judge another human being, I leave that up to God.
In the meantime, many people will come up with various and sundry theories about the man and his death and explicit items they wish had happened to him instead of whatever did happen. People are just that way.

Custom Laptops
I just bought a laptop computer a couple of months ago, after agonizing over the price and what I wanted and all that jazz. I thought I did pretty well given my financial circumstances. But, some of my friends disagree telling me I should have waited a little longer and gotten a custom laptop.
There are some very fine laptops on this website, like this beauty, the Howard 1681. What A Day
I had to go to the check cashing place today to cash my retirement check and get a money order so I can pay the rent. No big deal, nothing out of the ordinary, or so I thought.
I called a cab driver who had given me his card last month and he said it would be about 45 minutes before he could come and pick me up. I agreed, no biggie. Thirty minutes or so later I went outside to wait since it was a nice, warm, sunny day. And I waited, and then I waited some more. Ugh. An hour after the first call I called him again and he apologized, said he was still waiting on a customer and he would come pick me up pretty soon.
Ninety minutes after the first call I was still waiting. He called and apologized again, said he'd be there in five minutes. About that time I saw a cab coming down my street so I hailed it but it was the wrong cab. Damn! He told me he had just seen my cab driver getting gas so I thanked him and went back to the side of the road to wait.
A minute later I saw another cab turning the corner and I thought, hooray he is finally here. Then I saw a guy jumping into the cab and I was thinking Oh, no you don't! I went out into the street so that the cab driver could see me and he stopped and just said hop in, which I did. I didn't want to wait any longer!
The guy that had jumped in down by the corner store was going way across town. Ugh. But, we took him home first then took me to the check cashing place. Jerry, the driver was so sorry for the delay.
He told me it took forever to get to me because the other customer was a woman that was ordering a cake and made him wait for her. She took an hour in that shop doing whatever it is they did for that cake. Jerry was so apologetic that I had waited so long and all the BS that he only charged me for one way passage, from the check cashing place back to my house. That was very nice :)
But, what a day! I feel sorry for myself having to wait so long but I feel sorry for Jerry too, things like today can really ruin customer relationships.
